How to Lure a Hunter (VRC Vampire Related Crimes, #3) by Alice Winters - There something so alluring about a paranormal romance. I only started reading them a couple of years ago, but I'm hooked!

Butt-dialing the Billionaire (Billionaires of Manhattan #7) by Annika Martin - Who could resist this title? Sounds like it'll be a lot of laughs.

BONUS: The Bodyguard by Katherine Center - I did read this last year. I really connect with Katherine Center and find her books to usually be 5-star reads for me. I hope you'll feel the same way.

Moore Hollow by J.D. Byrne

Book - Moore Hollow
Author - J.D. Byrne
Date Read - 1/13/23
Rating - 2 stars
Review - Ben is a journalist for a rag mag, writing stories on monsters and aliens. His employer finds a journal that is supposedly written by Ben's Great Grandfather that talks about zombies being raised in 1906 to help a candidate named "The Cheat" get more votes. Of course his employer sends him all the way to West Virginia from England to investigate the story to see if it's true or not.

Talk about slow paced and boring. Most of the story is pretty much Ben researching his way across the small town of Jenkinsville, West Virginia while being followed. Nothing significant happens and the ending is about as dull as a rusted knife. At least I have this off my shelf now.

Thoughts: Not horrible, but not great either. I struggled with the medical aspect of the storyline as well as all the chess references. It felt horribly long for the story it told.

Merry Christmas, Mr. Miggles by Eli Easton

This was a re-read for me because I forgot to review it the first time. I thought I remember liking it back then, but this time I didn't.

Sage's Christmas Miracle by Heather Mar-Gerrison
Rating: 2 Stars

This was a DNF at 40%. I just couldn't force myself any further. It was all telling and strongly reminded me of chicklit fic written for junior high school girls.

☀️ Hey Kari,
I read (or tried) my books.
Wrath (Sinful Secrets, #4) by Ella James was a 4-star read. Reading about families using conversion therapy to “cure” their gay children is always hard.
Demon's Dream An Unexpected Love by Elle Kayson was a new to me author but a 4.5 star read. It was an exciting and engaging urban fiction
My bonus read Thank You for Listening by Julia Whelan didn’t go so well. I started it a couple of times but it just couldn’t get into it. I DNF’d it at 31%

Thank you for my selections

Marty (martymill) | 1299 comments I read The Peach Keeper by Sarah Addison Allen by (five stars) and The Mistletoe Murder And Other Stories by P.D. James (five stars). Both were very good. I forgot that I'd read another book by Sarah Addison Allen before. I do like her brand of magical realism. P. D. James never wrote a bad book in my opinion and these stories were great.

I won't get to Ashes on the Waves, it's still checked out at my library. At least I managed two this month.
