Hi Sophia and book buddy friends

I'm Emily. I'm very new to this group, only just discovered it..
I'm new to the challenge but I'd love to give it a go, I'll aim for the Fanny Price level which makes sense because at the moment, I think Mansfield Park is my favourite, along with P&P.

I feel like I've always known Jane.. but doing this challenge will give me a chance to know her more... and learn about some fantastic books within the Janeite vein.. can't wait... here to learn and love Jane's work..

Wishing you all happy reading from sunny Australia!
Emily :)

Howdy, Emily!

What joy you found our group and joined up for some Janeite reading this year. MP is my second favorite Austen novel so I love that its your fav.

Cheering you on to Fanny Price level!

Wishing you lots of happy reading,

That would be Persuasion. :)

Craftyhj | 441 comments I find it really hard to name a favourite. All I can say is my least favourite is Sense and Sensibility (but I still love that too).

I think my favourite is whichever I am reading at the time. That I think is the true genius of Jane Austen.

message 165: by [deleted user] (new)

Ah, so true! :)

True for me, as well. I might have a favorites order, but they are all still fabulous and whichever is in hand currently definitely has my love.

Jessica Villagaray Hi everyone!

While I was born and raised in New Mexico, I've lived in the Lexington area of Kentucky for over 10 years now. I was first introduced to Jane Austen through Pride & Prejudice in high school, not long after the Kiera Knightly movie was release. That was when I fell in love with not only Mr. Darcy, but all of Jane Austen's novels.

I'm married now (sadly, not to Mr. Darcy) and have 2 step-sons in high school and a 4 year old daughter who is my sun and my stars. Generally, I easily read 75 books a year, but I only set a goal of 40 this year fearing that with 2 kids in high school my time would be precious.

I'm always looking for JAFF books that I can enjoy. I read Jane Austen Society last year and it was one of my absolute favorites! I also love the Pemberley Chronicles by Rebecca Ann Collins, I like to revisit those from time to time.

We are so glad you joined us, Jessica. Love your story of finding P&P and then your favorite Austenesque reading. Oh yes, teenagers and a household will definitely keep you hopping. Cheering you on to your forty book count this year!

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 600 comments Welcome to our party, Jessica. I am always thrilled to see a fellow Kentuckian join the group. You may not know this but there are several JAFF authors living in our state. Yeah, we rock. The bluegrass part of our state is unsurpassed. New Mexico is beautiful, I will give you that, but nothing can compare to our horses, green trees, and bluegrass. I hope you have fun with us. This group loves to talk about anything Jane Austen. Jump right in and join our many groups as we discuss our reading challenges… be prepared to add a copious number of books to your reading list. Yeah, it is contagious. We borrow titles from each other at every turn. Again, welcome, and have fun.

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 270 comments Welcome, Jessica. 40 books is still more than 3 books per month so that is a good goal. Just enjoy yourself.
