When Kim and Bryant visit the conversion therapy organization called Change, they not only meet the owners, Celia and Victor Gardner, but their two children Jessica and Eric who embrace the program enthusiastically. Did you sense anything unusual or off about them at the time or just figured they were reflections of their parents’ views?

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3485 comments Jessica and Eric took me by surprise. In fact, I thought that they didn't agree with their parents at all. I was sure that we would find out that they didn't want anything to do with Change and helped the patients behind their parents back. I also thought that Eric was gay. I got these two wrong.

It struck me at the time as how unusual it was for young people like Jessica and Eric to embrace the ideology of their parents, expecting them to be more enlightened. I should have realized how that program would have twisted them, especially since their parents were consumed by this “life work.”

Lynn (ftbooklover) I really thought they were just "true believers" like their parents and didn't suspect them of anything beyond ignorance.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) No, didn't see them as being the murderers. I knew something was off with Megan though, didn't quite link her back to the first prologue murder but there was something there that gave me pause.. Eric and Jessica just seemed to be drinking the cool aid as served up by their parents.
