Meanwhile, Stacey is investigating the disappearance of an accountant, Gabriel Denton, reported missing by his colleagues. Did you sense anything off by his wife Beth during Stacey’s first interview? When, if ever, did you begin to suspect she might be involved?

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3485 comments I didn't suspect his wife at all. She seemed so needy and dependent on Gabriel.

I started wondering after Stacey went to his employer. I suspected cheating or a plan to cheat.

I didn’t get a sense of anything off from the first encounter but when I learned how antisocial she was, that raised my suspicions. I went back and forth on this throughout the story but her behavior made her a possible suspect in my mind.

Lynn (ftbooklover) I started suspecting the wife when we were given the brother's view of his sister-in-law and the friend, Wendy's view.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) No, I didn't suspect the wife at all. I thought this was separate case and it was a bit of a red herring to link it to conversion case. Marsons does often do that in these books.. have two cases that may or may not be linked. It's fun trying to untangle them, in this case I didn't really work out what had happened to Gabe.
