The investigation leads the team to Megan Shaw, a therapist specializing in treating those who have experienced questions about their sexuality and conversion therapy. She chooses to direct Kim and Bryant to other organizations who provide a wealth of information about the history of these kinds of programs. She later explains that they needed more enlightenment. Was she right? Do you think it would have been less impactful if she’d shared the information herself (as she suggests) or could she have saved them valuable time?

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3485 comments Megan could have saved them time. However, talking to the various groups gave them additional insight that helped them solve the crimes. It is one thing to hear about the programs, it is totally different to experience the passion of people pro and con.

I agree, Sharon. She could have saved them a lot of time but after seeing how deeply affected Kim became from hearing and seeing things firsthand, Megan did the right thing. Kim and Bryant were so behind the curve on these issues I doubt they would have explored some of the angles they ended up pursuing.

Lynn (ftbooklover) I agree with Sharon and Jonetta, but now knowing how the book ends, she may have also been trying to steer them away from herself and Celia.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) She should have told them.. she knew crimes were being committed, didn't she. Like the rapes and abuse. Or she suspected it. I think Lynn was probably right. Her past with Celia and what they did would have influenced her decisions about exposing the clinic and Celia.
