Jeff | 3 comments spent hours trying to find out what book this is maybe someone here can help:

a science fiction book that deals with space opera and a female protagonist.

The female lead character goes on vaction to another world (ice world or waterworld) where there is a special attraction for offworld visitors something like singing mountains or dancing mountains or illars. anyways she takes a recording from the sounds she recorded and make a new song or type of music and something happens to the mountains or pillars and shes put into stasis and she awakens to find that her music has made her famous.

other things i remeber about the story:

one of the female's relatives invtented some sort of stasis bubble that hes been kept in for years and this relative and her eventually meet up and start a relationship, and her family is kept in stasis bubbles with instructions to be revived every so often to catch up on whats happening

more about the story: after she makes songs from the recordings the mountains or pillars leave the planet and spread out, (one ends up on earth if i remember right) but when they leave they damage the ship she is on and she ends up in stasis to awaken years later to find shes famous for the songs she made

I'm not familiar with the story, but perhaps somebody else is?
