Ron | 2715 comments Here's another potential I have:

El Norte: The Epic and Forgotten Story of Hispanic North America

I went to Spotify and saw that 'El Norte' was the name of several Mexican songs.

Jane Fudger I have just purchased "The Weakness In Me" by Joan Armatrading - the title is a song recorded in 1981

Themis I read Too Good to Be True for this prompt. I recommend it!

Loved that book! Interesting characters, a clever twist on "chosen one" tropes, a fun magic system and an ending I did not see coming. The 2nd and 3rd books in the trilogy are a bit angsty, because all the characters (especially Simon) would inevitably have massive PTSD by now. The 2nd book also has a hilarious take on the Burning Man festival.

Laura Ruth Loomis | 244 comments I went extra obscure with this prompt, because I had a dusty copy of Upton Sinclair's A World to Win on my TBR shelf, and that's a line from the equally obscure Peggy Seeger song "Love for Love."

Ron | 2715 comments So, it turns out I already did this one without even realizing it:

Bittersweet: How Sorrow and Longing Make Us Whole

- Bittersweet Symphony

I love it when I accidentally fill a prompt. Makes for one less book I need to find/read. 😄

LOL, right!

I'm hoping now that it will happen again for other prompts, but now I'm probably just holding my expectations too high.

I love it when I acciden..."

I adore this song, so I'll have to take a look at the book!

Ron | 2715 comments Lilith, the book is pretty good. I rate it a 4, but Susan Cain's previous book, 'Quiet' is so much better. Though this is a book I plan to get in paperback when it comes out.

Jen K | 91 comments I read O Beautiful which was actually named for the lyric in the song "America the Beautiful".

The book does not show America at its most beautiful but does highlight important issues.

Robin H-R Holmes Richardson (acetax) | 147 comments I just finished
The Day the Music Died (The Sam McCain Mysteries Book 1) by Ed Gorman The Day the Music Died
by Ed Gorman. First book in the Sam McCain mystery series, all of which have song lyrics as titles.

I used this for the "set in the decade you were born" prompt. Even though I was only a few months old when the tragedy in this book occurred, the settings and descriptions still brought back a lot of childhood memories. So nostalgic! Looking forward to the next installment.

Lilith (lilithp) | 1079 comments Nowhere to Run by Mary Jane Ckark was a good quick mystery. Good representation of clinical depression, on top of an interesting medical thriller.
And a lyric from Martha and the Vandellas. Couldn't resist.
