If you use a web browser (instead of the app), you can go to the book page itself. There is a section labeled "Progress" under "My Activity." You can update it there.

Nyssa, I see "Edit My Activity," but I don't see "Progress."
I am on the new re-designed page. Is there a way to get to the page with the old way?

Oh, I don't know. I've never seen the redesigned page.
Sorry.

I can't find a way to update progress with the new book pages other than on the home page "currently reading" section, but that maxes out if you have more than 4 or 5 books on your currently reading shelf. I hope they resolve this. I don't usually have many books on Currently Reading so I just use the home page, but a lot of people keep several books there and switch around between them.

I received a prompt response response a week ago, but I can't figure it out! It shouldn't be so hard. See this:

Okay, the explanation they gave wasn't clear but it does work for me and it also works from the book page. It's a workaround that shouldn't be needed, though. From your book list:
Go to My Books, then your Currently Reading shelf. Make sure Format is displayed, if not, click Settings at the top of the book list, click Format checkbox and save settings.
Now, where the format is listed (ie, Hardcover, etc) there will be an edit link. Click that to go to the list of editions. Then, on that list, hover over the Currently Reading button for the edition you're reading and the little thing to update your progress will show like in taliesien's screenshot in that help response.
From the book page:
You can get to the same Editions page on the new book page by clicking to display formats, then under the line of bookcovers, the link "Show all X editions" - that will take you to the same editions list as above.
But it's all quite the kludge because it's really weird that you can't just update progress right on the book page without having to go to different pages.

Thanks, Christa! I got it!

Christa, every time I go back to an old book, I need to read your instructions again! Thanks!

I have returned to a book I started last year.
I see how I can update my reading progress for the most recent books I have started, but not for older books.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
