That's our list of choices for January 2023. Which ones would you like to read?

-Any of the Atwoods except for the Handmaid's Tale
-The New York trilogy
-Empire of the Sun or The Drowned World
-The Sea
-H(A)PPY
-Night Boat to Tangier
And I imagine everyone has read all of the Austen's already, but I am always up for a re-read of any of them.

- Obabakoak
-dead air
-shroud
-H(A)PPY
would be willing to vote for any of these if people are feeling them.

I have gone through 25 of these, but I still have a few on my TBR shelf:
The Handmaid's Tale (Atwood; believe it or not)
Emma (Austen; believe it or not)
Moon Palace (Auster)
So Long a Letter (Bâ)
H(A)PPY (Barker)
Night Boat to Tangier (Barry)
So, it can be H(A)PPY or a Night Boat to Tangier for me at this stage.
The Handmaid's Tale (Atwood; believe it or not)
Emma (Austen; believe it or not)
Moon Palace (Auster)
So Long a Letter (Bâ)
H(A)PPY (Barker)
Night Boat to Tangier (Barry)
So, it can be H(A)PPY or a Night Boat to Tangier for me at this stage.
>8 Patrick, I would be H(A)PPY with either of those as well. The Atwood I’ve left to read is The Robber’s Bride. I also own So Long a Letter.
I’ve read 34 of these.
I’ve read 34 of these.

Like Kristel, I've read all the Atwoods except The Robber Bride.
The highest in my to-read list are The Crow Road and Nightwood. So any of those three would be great for me but I would read some of the others that were mentioned, like Moon Palace or Empire of the Sun.

Two excluded from Randomiser this month you will need to vote for them if you want them to be read
The Handmaid's Tale
Elegance of the Hedgehog

Good Morning and Happy Thanksgiving to those in the US.
Starting off 2023 we will be reading
The Atrocity Exhibition by Ballard (Random pick)
H(A)PPY by Barker.

We had a great turn out with 6 books receiving votes. H(A)PPY jumped out ahead fairly quickly and Robber Bride in second place. What will you be reading to start off the new year?
Are you on track to finish our year long read? Will you be reading Clarissa?
Be sure to get your votes in so we can get our quarterly reads set up.
Happy reading!

Have already read atrocity exhibition, but will def be reading Clarissa in the new year.

Good luck with Clarissa - I have read that one and don't plan to reread, but will peek at the threads to see what you all think!

My brain must have been addled by COVID, as I don't have H(A)PPY on my TBR (I confused it with H is for Hawk); not willing to pay $46 for the hard cover version, it still hasn't had a paperback release; so I will skip it. I already read The Atrocity Exhibition (hint: the Joy Division song of the same title is better than the book). So 2023 will start with my TBR challenge and the quarterly read, if I haven't already read it.

It’s an experimental structure novel with things like blank pages so really probably has to be read in book form. It was not easy to find and I didn’t have top pay $46 but it was still money that I usually try to avoid spending.

I ordered December and January books from library as the inter library thingy bobby normally takes ages so guess what happened... The Atrocity Exhibition has already arrived while Decembers books... no sign LOL

Also, this book is extremely short at 137 pages, so easy to fit in.

Since it is hard to secure in many countries, I can also send my copy to anyone in Canada hoping to read that hasn't secured one.
