Kevin Yeah, it saved me around 15 euro on that buy which is nice. There is a collection point in Limerick city so not much out of the way for me either. Handy enough.

message 52: by Paul (new)

Paul Sweet . So you got the Sanderson

message 53: by Kevin (new)

Gavin (bookmad93) | 871 comments paul not my cup of tea either/ i am hoping for The Fate of Ten in September i shall not be buying any books till middle/late August.

message 69: by Paul (new)

Paul A few interesting ones coming out.
I have preordered Legends II , an anthology released to keep funding the Gemmell fantasy awards held in David Gemmells honour. Some decent writers involved and 25 quid for the hardback signed by all contributors is very good.
I think spacewitch is the only one selling them.
Probably not of massive interest to many here but a nice one to get at the price
https://spacewitch.com/legendsii

message 70: by Paul (new)

Paul I've also preordered the final part of Anthony Ryans Blood Song trilogy and will now have a matching signed number set of all three parts .
Goldsboro books is amazing for those who have a few quid and a love of collectable fantasy or crime books.

message 71: by Trelawn (new)

Trelawn I have inadvertently started collecting some of the Macmillan War Pamphlets. I bought The Mysterious English just because I thought it was an essay by DL Sayers but it turns out they were propaganda pieces written and published during WWII. Paul then got me another one from the series, Nordic Twilight by EM Forster. A nice set to complete possibly.

message 72: by [deleted user] (new)

What an interesting series, Trelawn, not one I've come across. I will read some of them! Isn't it fun when a something doesn't turn out the way you expect, like your purchase, and it leads you into something new?

message 73: by Paul (new)

Paul Propaganda is always a fascinating subject. Its really interesting to see some by some of the great British writers.

message 74: by [deleted user] (last edited Jun 02, 2015 09:14AM) (new)

Yes, you're right. I've read too much from the C19th but none from WWII. Twelve of the Macmillan series is in the library that the engineer gave me a year's subscription to last Christmas :)

message 75: by Paul (new)

Paul Go for it.

message 76: by Trelawn (new)

Trelawn That's fortunate Theresa. There are an interesting insight into how the British viewed themselves during the war, particularly in contrast to how they viewed Nazi Germany.

message 77: by [deleted user] (new)

Thank you, Trelawn.

message 78: by Paul (new)

Paul In other collectable news I've seen a few collectors sites showing Go Set a Watchman. None offering signed versions but interesting to see if any surface

message 83: by Paul (new)

Paul £30 per book is high but If they are decent enough editions it will be worth it.

message 84: by Gavin (new)

Gavin (bookmad93) | 871 comments Not to high for me the amount of illustrations in them and at least it is once a year :)

message 85: by Paul (new)

Paul If the quality inside is as good as the cover it looks well worth it all right

message 86: by Paul (new)

message 99: by Paul (new)

Paul Reorganising the bookshelves today and we've built quite the collection and more to come so a little creative shelving required. A few donations might also be required.
On a side not I might be persuaded to part with a slipcased signed edition of The Power of Six by Pittacus Lore to someone who will appreciate it(ie Gavin) all I ask is it gets a good home.
Also if anyone is interested I've a signed special launch paper carrier bag for Transatlantic signed by McCann if anyone is a fan and would appreciate it.

message 100: by Gavin (new)

Gavin (bookmad93) | 871 comments Reorganising shelves can be fun but also deadly. Paul I would indeed be grateful for The Power of Six only if you truely want to get rid of it. And of course it would go to aa good home. If any other donations incl. Double Sir Terry's or any Michael Scott i would thankfuly take them. Or any reads you may have thay i may like.

However, As I am going to Florida on the 28th I wouldn't be able to pay for shipping till middle of August and wouldn't want you out of pocket so if your willing to hold onto till then I can top up my Parcel Motel account which doesn't quite have the funds ans of course reemburse your costs.
