My original plan was to read a book based on a TV series, since I have many that fit (Monk, Castle, NCIS, Psych, Charmed), but then I happened across a book in a LFL that I used for the ATY challenge, and it fit this prompt as well.

"The Jetsons" only ran in 1962-63...perhaps ahead of its time.
Eerily, many of the technologies & thinking made their way into our lives today.
This one's my favourite...especially when I'm about to go on FaceTime. LOL

And there was an X-Files movie....although this is not a novelization of that, per se.
I am now excited about this prompt.

That sounds pretty cool. It's been a long while since I did anything related to Firefly & Serenity.

Wonder Woman: The Official Movie Novelization
Not to knock all you fans but I just couldn't do a Star Trek or Star Wars novel.
I also noticed that this seemed to be a thing in the 80's and 90's but not so much now. So finding a book is harder since they are all older novels and no longer at the library.

yes the intent here is a book BASED ON a movie. So the movie comes first.
A lot of people have been confused by that and are thinking of movies made from books, because that's a really common challenge category that has shown up many times in the past.
It's up to you if you want to follow the intent of this category or not.

Technically, the book predates the movie rather than vice versa. However, as someone told me earlier in this thread, do what you think best.

There have been Doctor Who films - at least three of them - as well as feature-length episodes at various points, so that kind of links to movies!

Oscar Wars: A History of Hollywood in Gold, Sweat, and Tears
This one talks about the history, but it also mentions a lot of old and current Hollywood films that were released as far back as the 1920s.

You might try for an Art Of (Movie Title Here) because they are much less text-heavy. If you enjoy seeing a popular movie done as a Shakespearean play, then Ian Doescher has written a lot of them, including adaptations of the Skywalker Saga, the Avengers movies, and Mean Girls. They are pretty fast and entertaining reads.
