Part I definitely agreed with: How good a Cradle book is can definitely be determined by the percentage of Eithan in book...
Other LOL moments: Mercy, meet Mercy Remnant.
Heartsqueezer moment: Ziel, meet Ziel Remnant.
Awwww moment: Lindon's dad just calling to say hi.
Surprise new favorite badass: Emriss
Surprise LOL scene stealer: The Eight-Man Empire greedy Bow Sage Lady
Thing I wish was in there: Eithan reacting to Mercy getting his Joy Icon.

Whoo, this really was a huge non-stop fight after another.... I enjoyed all the twists in the fighting, but it was also kind of exhausting to read... I was really glad to get the extended denouement at the end--it was really nice to see how things turned out for everyone. (hide spoiler)]

I realized something and am unsure why, but I dislike Northsrider less than I do Malice and Shen. Or, to be more succinct, I loath Malice and Shen but not Northstrider.

I think most of us feel this way. He is not really malicious, he just doesn't want to leave Cradle...

I don't loath Malice. She really just wants to protect her people and seems to have lost her way over the years. Shen though, not sure there's any redeeming qualities there.

And the "trick" she played on Lindon with Charity was the last straw.

Northstrider... I have a lot of respect for what he's managed to achieve on his own, without leaning on anyone or taking on a sect, etc... but he let it get to his head too much. He's kind of in the middle, neutral...

Shen is the other end of the spectrum--Malice initially amassed power to protect her family. Shen amassed followers to increase his power...

Just chiming in that I adored this ending! It was missing a whole lot of Eithan, but the moments he was there were great! I agree with Nirkatze's favorite moment award! Apparently I was laughing pretty loudly while reading this, because my husband kept asking what was so funny from the other room xD

#9 is emotionally draining, but so worth it... #10 is coming out in September...

Right... Started. Looks rather good so far. Mercy seems fine. Yerin is strong as expected. Training starts for all.

I'm around 30% I think. Lindon going hard way... I'm curious about Ziel advancing.. Is he stopping himself somehow or is just me seeing this that way? Mercy went up. Yerin learned a big way about herself and her path.
