Rory grabbed it, grinning. "Take that!" The squid swiped at her ankles, but she jumped over the tentacles. It wrapped a tentacle around her, and she barely had enough time to cast a Bubble Head Charm before she was dragged under. She laughed. "Hey!" The squid let go and she swam through the kelp to watch the mermaids swim. The squid emerged next to her, watching them as well. She snickered and tickled him. The squid let loose bubbles as a show of laughter.

Rory reappeared at the surface of the lake, hearing Sybil talk. "I visit him. He gets lonely by himself, you know?"

Rory grins. "He hardly ever gets human foods." She whistled. The squid popped up and grabbed the food in his tentacle, disappearing once again. "He says thank you."

Rory faltered. "Y-yeah." She gave her a weak smile and dipped back under without a further word. That was close, she thought, sinking back down to the squid.

Rory swam deeper, glad that her Bubble Head Charm was still lasting.

Rory pursed her lips. "I'm not hiding anything," she said.

Rory sighed. "You can try. Protego!" She covered herself with a shielding charm.

Rory scowled. "Over my dead body." The squid floated over, concerned.

"Nothing!" she yelled back. "Just nothing..."

Rory backed away. "I don't have a secret!" Her eyes flashed silver.

Rory twisted her hands. "Fine. I have this thing with my eyes... they flash when I feel a strong emotion, like anger and happiness. But I hate them. People make fun of them," she said.

Rory surfaced. "Nothing much." The squid raised a tentacle in greeting. "We're just chilling in the lake."

"I'm going to drag you in," Rory threatened. She smirked.

Rory screeched. "Y-you're turning to Elsa!" she said stupidly. "Sorry, sorry. What's happening? Lorelei!"

Rory screamed. "Okay, okay. Calm down, Rory." She took a deep breath. "Okay, I'm gonna try this and if it doesn't work, I'll stop." She took out her wand, "Incendio!" she said, causing a controlled burn at the tip of her wand. She pushed it towards Lorelei, hoping to get her out.
