I had seen both positive and negative views of this book, so I wasn’t really sure what tot expect when I started reading it. I really liked the setting of an old sanatorium in the Swiss mountains that had been converted into a hotel. The book is a suspenseful locked room mystery, as guests and staff of the hotel are stranded there following an avalanche. I really enjoyed the tension and the atmosphere created at the start of the book, and this was mostly maintained throughout. The plot twists were unexpected with different ideas planted throughout the book to throw the reader off, and this is what kept me reading and wanting to find out what happened next. I found the ending to be a bit disappointing and hard to believe, though I will probably read the sequel that was clearly being set up in the epilogue.
