Added Venetia to message #3 Barb! Room for two more.
How about Cotillion? I think that’s frothy fun and funny, lovely way to kick off the new year (can’t go wrong with any of the three already nominated!)
I must say I'm excited about these selections - they are all favourites of mine.& the poll is up https://www.goodreads.com/poll/list/1...
It is also on our home page. :)
I’ll vote for Sprig Muslin because it has been a long time since I read it. Oops! I see there’s a poll; I’ll trot over and vote there.
Jackie wrote: "I had to vote for Devil's Cub as I am really in the mood for a re-read of that."Yes it’s a while since I’ve been able to enjoy a good discussion about DC.
Susan in NC wrote: "I voted for “cotillion” because I nominated it, but I want to reread them all!"I know - so many good choices!
Just hopped over and did it Carol. I've had flu all week and it's floored me. All I've been able to do is read and I went on a Heyer spree :) Read Black Sheep, Venetia, The Toll-Gate and now I'm on Frederica!! So I have some of them read.
Hope you are feeling better, Teresa. Great idea to read all those Heyers while you were recuperating! I voted for Devils Cub because I have not read that one before (for some reason I didn't participate in the last group read of it). But that is a good list of alternates.

great! ... I love Venetia, too, but that re-read is a special treat I reserve for a special time (no idea what sort of special time, though)
I am looking forward to this one - interesting to read right after LOQ, but also because Miles is a favorite, and I enjoy the humor!

It’ll be interesting to read this straight after LoQ. I hope we can fit in Devil’s Cub and Venetia later?
Susan in Perthshire wrote: "It’ll be interesting to read this straight after LoQ. I hope we can fit in Devil’s Cub and Venetia later?"Oh, yes, please, that would be delightful!
Or, maybe we could do a Book Pool here, Carol, everyone nominate your top three-five Heyer books? Everyone else choosing to participate can read as many or few or none of the books in addition to their own nominations? Forgive me if that’s too much work, I was just thinking how certain books might be the favorite of one member, but another member vows to never read it again! Fascinating that one author can stir such reactions- we have had some great discussions over the years…we’ve welcomed several new members, I enjoy getting their fresh insights into some of our more “controversial” titles!
Susan in Perthshire wrote: "It’ll be interesting to read this straight after LoQ. I hope we can fit in Devil’s Cub and Venetia later?"Devil's Cub's results were a bit too low. (& I am saying this as the person where DC is her favourite book in the world! 😥)
@ Susan in NC that is an interesting idea. I would need to talk it over with Critterbee, then get back to you.
I have a busy weekend, so this will take a couple of days. 😊

No pressure, dearest, you have a lot on your plate!🧡💛🤎 I was just throwing out an idea, if the group wants to keep nominating and voting every month, that’s nice also. I have not been getting some notifications, so wasn’t sure if anything had been announced for this group for next year.
Hooray! I still have to catch up with LoQ but I read Black Sheep in 2020 so I can easily contribute to the discussion and happily will reread it.

I thought so too, which is why I voted for it. Will we all agree that Black Sheep is the better book, I wonder?

I’ve never thought one was better than the other. Whichever one I am reading, is my favourite at the time. Neither of these books are in my top ten but I do enjoy them. I am going into the read with an open mind. Seems pointless reading it otherwise. 😉
Susan in Perthshire wrote: "It’ll be interesting to read this straight after LoQ. I hope we can fit in Devil’s Cub and Venetia later?"& Critterbee & I have decided that we can read Venetia as our group read in Feb!
It only lost by one point & was actually in the lead for most of the poll.
@ Susan in NC - I'm sorry, I forgot to raise your idea with Critterbee. I'm make a post in our moderators' group in a few minutes.
Oh that is fabulous! Thank you Carol and Critterbee! This will help me get over the worst of the winter that lies ahead! (Northern hemisphere!)

It should be the start of summer here, & we had to have the heat pump on yesterday. (although there is brilliant sunshine here atm)
& no problem. :)

For our newer members we aren't doing a read in December as that is a catch up month!
Please don't nominate a book that we have read in 2022 - list here. https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
As far as I remember all of GH's titles have had an individual read in either the Books or Group reads folder except for My Lord John, Helen & Pastel
As longtime members of this group know, I loathe the first two books & have no intention of reading them ever again. & I can't get hold of Pastel for a price I'm willing to pay. So, unless Critterbee wants to read them, if you want to nominate these three, you have to be prepared to lead the discussion (not hard to do in a friendly group like this one)
So nominations will close when we have five nominations or on Tuesday (my time) whichever comes first. :)
I'm going to kick off the nominations with Devil's Cub
