15.10. They All Look Good to Me
Read a book that was nominated for the group read for Winter 2022-2023, in a different category than the book you used for Task 20.10. You can use any of the 20 nominees in those 2 categories.
The three polls can be found here
REQUIRED: Include in your post the book you used for 20.10 (if you've already posted it) or the book you plan to use for 20.10 (if you haven't already posted it).

If you do not plan to complete task 20.10, or you plan to read the Gutenberg Classic, post in the help thread, and I will randomly assign a category that cannot be used for this task.

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 4447 comments What If I'm NOT planning to read any of the 20.10 options?

(I've already read three of the four and have no interest in the 4th.)

Hi, BC - It's not just the 3 others that were chosen that you can read, but any of the 20 that were nominated. The link takes you to the page where you can see them all under Poll 2, 3, and 4. For instance, I can read A Case of Blackmail in Belgravia even though it wasn't the final selection.

Thanks, Robin, but I don't think this addresses Book Concierge's issue - she doesn't plan to read anything for task 20.10, so she doesn't know which category she would have to rule out for this task.

Post in this thread, and I will randomly assign one of the 3 categories to you. You can then read from the list of nominees for the other 2 tasks.

easy to do, and you were trying to help resolve a problem.

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 4447 comments Sure Sandy ... randomly assign me a category. Thank you.

As I understand the clarifying rule ... the category you'll assign is the one that will be OFF the table for my reading choice.

message 11: by Tawallah (new)

Tawallah | 136 comments Please random assign me a category that cannot be used.

Correct

Wayne | 356 comments I just want to make sure I'm doing this right. What I want to do is use Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood as my 15.10 book and Remarkably Bright Creatures as my 20.10 book. Does that work?

certainly - you picked your 20.10 book from one category, and used a book from another category for this task.

The problem here involves people who do not want to read any of the 20.10 books.

Robin P | 1609 comments I finally figured it out AND

I am actually planning to read Jekyll & Hyde for 20.10, and that's the classic, so I would like you to assign me a category to eliminate. Thanks!

message 18: by Teri-K (last edited Nov 28, 2022 06:16AM) (new)

Teri-K I plan to read the classic, so I'll need a category to exclude. This is a fun idea! Thank you.

As none of these books are available at my library (Shrines of Gaiety for instance currently has a waitlist till Oct 23), I suspect that I will probably end up reading the classic, so please assign a category to me as a backup plan

I'm not sure if I'm reading one of the 20.10 books or not. So, I guess I need you to give me a random category to nix, just in case. Thanks.
