When Lindsey meets Mark for the first time in Tom’s office, she was instantly attracted. If not for his crush on Tracy, do you think he would have had the same reaction to her?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments I think he did have the same reaction to her. He just told himself that Tracy was the girl for him. He was trying to live out his high school fantasy of finally getting the girl of his dreams.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments I agree with Anita. Mark had a crush on Tracy in high school and he wanted to win his fantasy girl. If Tracy hadn't been in the picture, I'm sure he would have noticed Lindsey.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1808 comments I also agree with Anita.
He had created an image of Tracey in his mind from high school. His meeting Lindsay made it possible for him to slowly see the real Tracey and realize she wasn't the one for him.

He was immediately attracted to Lindsay but his preoccupation with Tracey made it difficult for him to see it.

Ditto for me, too, Anita. You nailed it. Tracy was the fantasy; Lindsay was his reality. Just took him a little time to get there.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I agree with everyone.

Mark was living in the past, and seeing Tracy with his high school eyes. Mark saw Lindsay through the eyes of a man, but tried to keep the fantasy alive with Tracy.
