Dani Vez | 3 comments According to goodreads policy:

Books can be attributed to "Unknown" when the author or editor (as applicable) is not known and cannot be discovered. If at all possible, list at least one actual author or editor for a book instead of using "Unknown".

If I read correctly, Anonymous author should be completely removed, or at worst, replace by Unknown.

No it shouldn't.

From the Anonymous profile:
Books can be attributed to "Anonymous" for several reasons:

* They are officially published under that name
* They are traditional stories not attributed to a specific author
* They are religious texts not generally attributed to a specific author

There are some books where it is not clear if the author should be listed as Unknown or Anonymous. Those cases will generally be brought up here in the Librarians Group, and the result will be left in a Librarian Note on the book.
