Just finished #48 Connections--so this was like an (view spoiler)[Al Capone-inspired one? A lot of satisfaction in seeing E&P put down the arrogant self-absorbed gang folks. Also really enjoyed the reaction Eve kept getting about "Oh! You're the Icove cop! I loved that movie!" (hide spoiler)]

Went through #49 Vendetta in Death yesterday. I loved the Bella bits... (view spoiler)[she's turning into a manipulator! And Sommerset being "Somshit" is still precious. Add to that Eve's reaction to Mavis identifying Sommerset as a surrogate grandfather... and the revelation of an encore on the way... LOL.

I also really love when we get little tidbits of the "history" of this alternate slight future... major protests with celebrity participants is a safe bet...

I do agree with yalls thoughts about Payback in Death being not as good for some reason.. Sometimes (view spoiler)[ I feel like Eve knows who it is way too easily.. I want some more digging! (hide spoiler)]

Started #50 Golden in Death... I love these books, but I can't deny they're brutal... open up with a sweet loving family, and you just know things aren't going to go well...

#50 Golden in Death Chapter 11--they make the administrators keep teaching!! "How can we administrate if we don't also teach!" Preach it! I wish our school board would follow this...

Finished #50 Golden and then blitzed through #51 Shadows and #52 Faithless and almost done with #53 Forgotten.

Not going to get the other four done in 5 hours though, LOL, so not crossing the finish line tonight. Will have to try to cram them in next month with the crowd.

Favorite of that group so far has been #52 Faithless. I always like it when the title is interpreted in interesting ways, and was surprised when it started off as one interpretation and then took a corner into another. Also, the premise is probably my own personal nightmare, so it was so very satisfying to see Eve take those bastards down.
