Nope! LOL, they own other entities as well, but those were the ones listed in the announcement of their acquisition of Subway.

Looking forward to hearing more about Baxter in Devoted. I love how each of the characters gets fleshed out.

I just read that scene. Eve would probably stun me for saying this, but she is her sweetest when with the Mira's
OMG! The doll conversation! LOL LOL LOL

I thought I'd missed the doll section, since you guys were talking about the start part... but then it hit me in the middle... and boy did it hit me... the narrator is so great at Eve's horror :D

I just read this scene (Chapter 15); Chocko and I were talking about a conversation that happened earlier in the book - I don't remember what chapter it was, but it was shortly after they had visited the Mira's (and had hot chocolate).
Eve's exclamation was on point and hilarious!
THE FUTURE IS NOW!!!
Speaking of the Roarke stuff, I was shopping today, and saw this:

Refillable Capri-Sun shaped juice pouches...
Put a bit of soda in there, and you've got classic In Death vending machine soda tubes...

those bristled cleaning brushes seem best, if you don't want them just to be dirty forever...

Chapter 18 - I did not expect to start my day in full-on tears!

You know what it's going to be, pretty much from page one... between the title, and the opening, my immediate thought was (view spoiler)

^^^Agreed^^^ with all of the above.
I know that to do so would have been completely unprofessional and is certainly none of their business. Still, some part of me wanted Eve (view spoiler) .
I
I read #43: Apprentice in Death, last night and this morning... this is one of the 3 star ratings from my previous read-through...
This one is definitely sensational, (view spoiler)
Loved all the emotional beats tho, with our recurring cast of characters...

Totally agree with everyone's notes--I hope that nice Arkansas detective comes back too! Though--I'm also with Eve... why ISN'T it pronounced ar-Kansas? Why didn't I ever notice this before?
I was so glad (view spoiler)

Right, I was having flashbacks to that school teacher and curbed my expectations. (view spoiler)

OMG that doll part!!! I was horrified along with her lol

Loved all..."
Because of the emotional beats I'm more likely to rate it a bit higher... But agree with you about the apprentice. Also the end (view spoiler)
This week's entry, Echoes in Death, is much better, I think...
Also, a memorable opening, that I still remembered from the first time I read it... didn't remember all the twists, tho...
I think this one shows how much Eve has grown/changed since book 33 and book 1...

They like and depend on their dynamic, at this point...
It wasn't great in the early books (Eve was projecting her own father issues?), but it course corrected through books 10-20, I think, and was solid by the time Roarke's ex came to town and messed with him, and Eve & Summerset had their little heart-to-heart... that's my interpretation, anyway...

Yeah, definitely comparing that to this here. ^^

Did my read of #45, Secrets in Death, today... loved it... there's something about doing these reads consistently, that removes the issues I had revisiting the series after a long break...
I went ahead and upped every 3 star book rating to 4 stars :D
EXCEPT for Fantasy In Death... the VR one... as a computer science graduate, I refuse to give it 4 stars :D

LOL In contrast, I loved the teacher one--Innocent in Death, I think? But that is the danger of reading/watching media that overlaps on our field of expertise...
Finished #42 Brotherhood--ya'll weren't kidding about the emotional impact. And the DOLLS!! LOL I'd forgotten that Eve had that phobia... I loved all of the repeated gaffs, from Even slaughtering another few idioms to Peabody's McNabby ass-grabbing and even the room redesign--which felt like a new Trina.
I was surprised that the history setting was (view spoiler)

I loved when the Captain got a ride in Eve's car. I was kind of hoping for a bigger reaction though.
I am also somewhat tickled that the escape plan involves Alaska.
About halfway through, and starting to get a sinking suspicion... (view spoiler)

Oh yeah I was really suspicious of that too

I also started Echoes in Death #44 ... About half way through and I feel so bad for the obviously abused lady... I really hope it doesn't come out she had anything to do with the murder... She breaks my heart! Also, I don't know why, but the work partner of the first couple's husband gave me some bad vibes. He immediately went on my suspect list...

#44 was a pretty strong one IMO. The end (view spoiler)

Iain, you are right. There is definitely some of that influence! Either way, the crazy always disturbs me, particularly when it takes that frenetic form .. *shudder*!
Finished 41.5... Another trippy one! I think since we have established that sensitives and mind manipulation are real at this point, it was easier to accept as a premise...
