Ohh, I hope I find it because I put myself as the discussion leader of this book, just to see how this works, but if I can find the book it gets tough :(

The first time I tried to read this book I struggled to get into it, but on another try I got hooked and ended up enjoying it.

I am about 80% through this book and I am enjoying it. I was not sure what to expect given the comments above - however I find it quite compelling. I am eager to get to the end as it is all quite mysterious, however I am not sure ai want it to end.
It is unusual.to read a book from only one person's POV. In this case the point of view is from someone who is very straightlaced and prudish, however it seems to work. It is also set mostly in a fairly working class setting which is also very different from most HR set in the UK.

Thanks Jan. I might add them to my reading list! I finished the book and enjoyed it to the end.

:)

In the beginning, I was a bit disappointed. I had read quite a few good reviews about this book, but I do not think Alice Coldbreath's heroes are going to be my cup of tea. However, he did redeem himself by the very end. For most of the book, I just felt like he was getting the way better end of the bargain! Mina was smart, kind, not judgmental, of good character, and open to change. For me, she was really rather a paragon. If he had not come around, that would have made him a really bad hero. I did enjoy the writing style, and I do plan to finish the trilogy in 2023 as part of my series challenge.
