Welcome to The Second RebelBuddy Read Discussion thread! This thread officially opens on November 1st and anyone can join at any time. Please keep in mind that spoilers are allowed in this thread but only up to the group's current reading place. Do not spoil the book if you've read further than the group. Any extra days can be used to catch up!

Each day we will be reading by chapters or page numbers. Page numbers are an approximation based on the hardcover or paperback that is the default on Goodreads. The suggested Buddy Read discussion schedule is as follows:

Week of 11/1
November 1st: Chapter 3-12
November 2nd: Chapter 12-21
November 3rd: Chapter 21-30
November 4th: Chapter 31-40
November 5th: Chapter 40-Epilogue

I know—I'm having the same issue! This catch-up to figure out who everyone is will be rough

Finished through chapter 11 today and should manage chapter 12 tonight. The details are very slowly coming back but quite enjoying even though the back story is hazy. I'm glad that Luce has a POV this time and I'm intrigued by the synthetic and Sorrel. Good set up so far.

I kind of wish I could remember all that Hiro put in the tapes in the first book but will sort it out. Vaguely remember Castor, think he didn't get on with Lito?

Finished through Chapter 21. There is so much going on and I wonder how it will all come together. It does have a bit of middle book syndrome going on as everyone gets to where they need to be, mentally and physically, but I'm still enjoying.

I like Luce since she is just plucked as the sister of Lito. I have lots of hope for Astrid to make proper change and it will be interesting to see how she works within and through the sisterhood. Hiro and Lito are good too as they manage new friends and trying to understand the plans of the Icarii.

Admittedly I'm going a lot slower on this than I anticipated, because I wanted to wrap up the other book I was reading first. BUT I'm at chapter 5 and things are starting to click again.

I am very happy that Luce gets her own chapter (heavy Phoenix Extravagant vibes in her POV—loving it), although I'm still trying to remember what the hell happened in the first book. I have a day off today and tomorrow, and am going to binge read to pick up and attempt to finish on time.

The book is reading quite fast for me but it is my only non-audio book. The short chapters somehow make me consume more pages than I intend. Read most of today's already since I'm going out to celebrate a friend's birthday tonight.

Lito and Luce (view spoiler)[ They are starting to annoy me a bit as way too altruistic. Not sure why they feel that they need to sacrifice themselves for all Icarii. Having both make the same observations of the Asters was a bit unnecessary. I do like how their chapters share more on the Asters' way of life and that they have different perspectives on Sorrell. Hiro (view spoiler)[ They seem to fall for anyone and everyone they meet but I like how they connected us to Mara and interactions with family (hide spoiler)]

Astrid (view spoiler)[ She is my favorite for not being all good or all bad but the thing with Ringer is just weird. I wasn't expecting such a quick downfall but also not surprised. Glad to see her on her own (ish) again and will be interested to see what happens next. She does need to take on the sisterhood. (hide spoiler)]

All I know at this point is that I really want one of those biodome coats. They sound so cool!

Yes!! The coats sound very cool. It may all go downhill from here though. Excited to see how you find it. There is just so much going on.

I finished and HOLY SHIT!!!

I am so glad that I have the ARC—and so annoyed, because with all of the books I want to read this month I have no idea if I'm going to get to it until December. AGHHHHH WHYY.

I'm totally jealous!!! I'm hoping the theme of book 3 is "let it burn" and very excited to see the world(s) come falling down and see that is left in the ashes. Most excited for Astrid and the sisterhood.

YES ALL OF THOSE!

I want to see what's left in the ashes, what Astrid and Lily are up to, and most of all, I want to know about the Synthetics (especially with that epilogue!!)

Yes, the synthetics!! The Asters unfortunately failed the kindness test. Not sure what the synthetics will plan next but I am down with them still being team Outlaw!

OMG, the twist with Lily!!!! I wasn't completely surprised but also didn't fully guess it. I can't wait for Astrid and Lily vs the sisterhood!

I see that the next book is out this week. I'm #1 on the hold for the library but it is still on order. Like you, I have a ton of books already slotted for finishing in November for various challenges so I can wait. But, if it doesn't arrive by December, I may just buy.
