For self-published books published through sites other than Amazon, the site in question would often be what we would consider the publisher (e.g. Smashwords). In other cases, leaving that field blank is most appropriate.
I've seen various requests for self-published books, but I haven't yet tried to fulfill them as I don't know for sure what to set as the publisher, and I didn't find a clear answer in the Librarian Manual. I'm aware of the cases where Kindle Direct Publishing is needed, but what about the others? How should we proceed? Maybe leaving that space blank isn't the most accurate information.
