This is what Christian thrillers can be--tightly written, gritty with strong characters. While I didn't find enough depth in the characters, this is quite normal in the thriller genre, and of course this is a romantic suspense novel, so that affects things. There aren't any really original characters, but there were some clever things that Eason did so that even though one knows basically how a Christian romantic suspense novel is going to end--that's part of the lure of the genre--not everything is as predictable as you might think. There's no point in reading thrillers where there are no twists and turns.

I haven't read a lot of Eason novels and don't plan to go back and read all of her old ones because she has written so many I might start to see all of her patterns, but I do plan to read the next book in this series.
