This is a brilliant adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe's The Fall of the House of Usher. It manages to be both loyal to the source material and still a uniquely Kingfisher story. I absolutely loved it.
I follows the same plotline as its source material, but we finally get an explanation of the why behind the events. There are also some new characters and everyone is loveable and interesting and a bit weird.
Highly recommend for fans who love the atmosphere of gothic horror but want more creepy scenes on the page.

So clever, so compulsively readable!
