Not a specific thread, but you can certainly make suggestions here.

We're trying to move through the different time periods, so the emphasis will be on the 1900s and the 2000s in 2025. Infinite Jest is an excellent suggestion; I'd like to get that one checked off, too.

Nike | 57 comments I wonder why people suggest prompts like A book I'm not looking forward to or A book I dread - what's fun or interesting about that?

Why not Read a book I've wanted to read for a long time?

Other ideas are:

* A book where an animal plays an important role
* A book with less than 100 pages
* A book with more than 400 pages
* A book with at least five words in the title
* A book with a name in the title
* A book with a profession in the title
* A book set mostly in winter
* A book where death plays an important role
* A book where birth or rebirth plays an important role
* A book by an author that uses initials in her or his name/pen name
* A book set mainly in nature
* A book set mainly in a big city
* A book set mainly in a small town
* A book set mainly in a village or in the countryside
* A book set in Central America or the Caribbeans
* A book set in South East Asia
* A book set in Northern Europe
* A book by an author who has been awarded the Noble Prize in Literature
* A book by an author who is still alive
* A book by an author who has been dead more than fifty years
* A book set mostly in one single home or house
* A book set in an invented land or place
* A book with a verb in the title
* A book with something botanical in the title - a tree or a flower or a fruit etc

And Yes, I'd love a Bingo.

Klowey | 1 comments I also love the BINGO idea, which I have done in another group. It seems to inspire me.

To me, it is a push to read a book from the list I might put off for a very long time. And you never know, even if you dread it, you might turn out to actually love it!

I also would jump in if we read Infinite Jest as the long read next year.

Well, there's more than 1000 books on the list. There are so many I WANT to read. Personally I don't dread books at all but if I'm not interested in reading a book - due to genre (for example so called chic lit, which is not on the list anyway) - I simply don't read it. There are thousands of books I want to read from all over the world, from all times, of varying length and in a multitude of genres, I can't see why I would choose something I'm not interested in before I've read the books I want. 🤷

Kimberly | 165 comments For the Scavenger Hunt: how about reading a book with less than 1000 ratings? There are still quite a few of them on the list.
