Debra (debrapatek) | 108 comments I added one to the House of Cards column. I binge-watched the US adaptation of the TV series and have been meaning to check out the book that inspired it.

Would love to read it, RC. Let's set up a buddy and I am sure there will be more takers.

Excellent. I do remember the original show, way back when, but haven't seen the US version. It was set, as I recall, after the fall of Thatcher.

House of Cards Trilogy
1. House of Cards (1989)
2. To Play the King (1992)
3. The Final Cut (1995)
I have liked everything I have read so far by Michael Dobbs, so have high hopes for this. The author was Chief of Staff and later Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party, so he knew his stuff.

I've never read Dobbs or seen the TV show but Tory party skullduggery seems to be the theme du jour!

Glad you're joining us, Ben - everyone welcome, as always.

Jan C (woeisme) | 1646 comments I just didn't see much I wanted to read. Also, couldn't really find anything that took place in the workplace that I was interested in reading.
