I would love to join on this buddy read in a few weeks. I didn't see it until now, and I have a few other reads to finish.

I started the book today. A friend of mine told me a little about it and since then I wanted to read it. I am reading it in French so there won’t be too many quotes :-) I have read 60 pages for now and have to say, I am hooked. I love the way it is written, the fact that the narrator speaks to us the readers and the way the author is building the story. This is my first experience with Dumas. I think it will not be the last.
Love this book--I've read it twice and don't have time to reread it this month, but will try to get back for this anyway since so much if it is still fresh in my mind.

The first time I read it I was a child and the second time my kids were in their 20s (last year, so they're still all in their 20s)

For now, I convinced my husband to try it! I just loved the first part of the story. Even if it is quite a big book ( 700 pages in part 1 of the story), I never felt bored or thought that the story could have been shorter! I look forward starting book 2 at the end of November (another 700 pages!). Then I'll try The Three Musqueteers!

That's how I started the reread, but then I just went and started reading the whole book from the start a couple of years after trying it on audio.
I still have about 200 pages to go. It's a big book!!! But I love everything about it. Even though sometimes I feel like saying to Dumas, enough is enough ( so many things happening) , I do not feel the book is too long.
Rachael wrote: "It's a big book but quite gripping as so much is happening. It's a bit like watching a soap opera"It is! I finished it last night. I just loved everything about it. I want to try The Three Musqueteers now. Well everything by Dumas! LOL

Pages: 1276 pages
Length: 2 Months (November & December)
Participants: Lorraine, Rebecca, Rachael.
Everyone reads at their own pace during a Buddy Read. Because participants can be at different parts of the book at different times, it is extremely important to mark spoilers so that the book is not ruined for someone who is not as far along as others!!!
Mark spoilers by placing {spoiler} before the text and {/spoiler} after the text but use the < and > instead of the { and }.
Happy Buddy Reading!
