What were your initial thoughts of The False Prince?
No spoilers in this thread please.

I am really loving it so far. It is a mix between The Selection and Throne of Glass. I just love these competition type books/movies/tv shows. Really excited to continue on with it.

Romi (likes books) (wheretheromi) I'm not finding it to be so wonderful, myself. I'm listening to the audiobook and that means I'm over halfway through now, and it could be that a part of the reason why I'm not enjoying it so much is because the reader doesn't work so well for me, but I'm finding Sage incredibly annoying and... a little bit hypocritical. Hope the last half is better!

Got to admit, I found Sage arrogant as well, but right now I am on the second half and He has really redeemed himself and is starting to take things seriously.

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 127 comments Sage is not likable at all and neither are the other characters however I am only 30 pages in.

LauraW (lauralynnwalsh) I don't know. I am on my third time through the book, but even at the first, I saw Sage as an interesting character. I kept wondering what was behind his arrogant facade.

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 127 comments however it may just be my own dislike I can see where this whole series is going.

Shaun Hately (drednort) | 6 comments Just finished it. My first thoughts when I began to read was being intrigued by the basic idea, and wondering how certain things would be handled given the timeframe that seemed to be available.

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 127 comments I am still on page 40 and I have to say they I'm pretty sure that our main character will be picked and that he won't be able to be controlled by this guy because his attitude is so strong and he will leave and become stronger and blah blah blah. I really wan to read this book so I prob will continue but I am not in the mood for this retelling. Once you've read the Seven Realms series theres no going back.

Bri | 8 comments I'm almost on the hundredth page and so far I'm liking it. It seems really original and that's pretty hard to do in the YA genre. I'm not sure I really like the main character, but he seems like he's the best pick to be the fill-in prince. So far I'm glad I decided to read this book!

Ashlee I read this series a year ago and loved it! Not sure I'd liken it to The Selection though - this series is actually well written for one thing

If I were a fifteen year old girl I would totally be in love with Sage, at 27 that's just a bit creepy though!

For those who are losing patience with this book, please hold on for the end, it's really fantastic!

Grace (gdaminato) | 520 comments I thought I might skip this book until I realized that I already had the audiobook. I started listening a few days ago. It puts me in mind of the The Prince and the Pauper - not the details, just the premise.

I like Sage - arrogance and all. My guess is that, not only will he be chosen, he'll also be discovered to be the real Prince.
