When BookFunnel asks for email address the address is for author use not Bookfunnel but it enables the author to send email to recipient of book. Authors may call those emails updates, announcements, etc. instead of newletters but I don't know if term used matters or not.

The ones I've seen they ALL required e-mail address to receive and there's still a note that says it meets GR criteria and not to delete/nab. I actually went to BookFunnel and checked.
When I've used BookFunnel I have always been asked for an email but they don't always subscribe you to something and it gives you a choice, sometimes there's a box you can check so that it subscribes you to a newsletter but if you don't check it then you are not subscribed, and when it asks email alone I never receive anything else. I think it depends on the author (they must set it to be a certain way) and I didn't know BookFunnel allowed download without email because I've never encountered those personally. Still those records I've seen on Goodreads they all required an e-mail address. Well, I guess then only those that do not require email at all would meet criteria.

The ones I've seen they ALL required e-mail..."

Thanks, Emily. I wondered if that might be what was happening.
Bookfunnel is not a newsletter subscription and does not require registration (making an account) but it does ask for an e-mail address to deliver the book. My question is are they valid or not?
