The Meaning of It
Check out this book on Goodreads: The Meaning of It https://www.goodreads.com/book/..."
In the author's note, you should put a "trigger warning". I personally think trigger warnings are stupid, especially if the book is intended for 18+ but it's sort of the expected norm now. For example, Stephen King's book at the end of It features a gangbang between a bunch of 10-12 year olds and would never be published in today's world.
For reviews, look at the intention of the reader. Was their intention to simply bring you down or do they really want to improve your book? Not all readers have good intentions and if you conclude that the reader did not have good intentions, I would ignore it.
It's when the reviewer has good intentions and criticizes with the hope of you improving your writing that you should listen.
