how do you guys annotate?

i use post-it tabs (i don't usually color code), i highlight my fav lines, and if i feel like it i write notes in the margins

I honestly use my favorite highlighter and a pen. And then I usually highlight things I like and then write my thoughts in the margins!!

I use sticky tabs that I like to match to the cover and sometimes I just use those to mark my favorite parts/quotes etc, or I use a pen and write my thoughts in the book as I read and highlight quotes.

I use sticky tabs to mark quotes that I like, or anything I find sad or scary (depending on the genre of book I’m reading). I also like to match the color of the tab to the mood, like if I find something a character said sad, I mark it with a blue tab. Or if I find something cute, I use a pink tab. I sometimes also use a different color for a certain character. I also like to write in the margins or draw things around the words. Like, if there’s a cute moment in a romance book. I like to draw hearts around it.
