Lisa has amnesia, with only limited images in her head regarding her past. She also speaks with an Irish accent and has skills she didn’t have before the amnesia. Have you heard of cases like this?

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3485 comments Never, although I did research some of the strange amnesia cases documented by doctors that included patients that acquired an accent after the amnesia.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments Yes, I've heard in on a TV show previously, but I can't remember which one. The person had amnesia and spoke with a totally different accent.

I’ve heard of people who experienced traumatic brain injuries coming out of it with foreign accents and other skills they never had before. They weren’t amnesiacs but it points to how trauma can affect the brain in bizarre ways.

I had never heard of a case like this - this severe and with the accent. However, I enjoyed the way the author used Tracy reaching out to experts to educate readers on the different scenarios that can occur in cases like this. Kudos for him.

I thought that was smart, too. It would be too easy to think it was made up for dramatic purposes otherwise. I loved the educational component.

~Melissa~ | 429 comments I had never heard of a case like this - especially with the accent. I did enjoy her follow up with the doctors to see if this was possible and explanations.
