Never, although I did research some of the strange amnesia cases documented by doctors that included patients that acquired an accent after the amnesia.
Yes, I've heard in on a TV show previously, but I can't remember which one. The person had amnesia and spoke with a totally different accent.
I’ve heard of people who experienced traumatic brain injuries coming out of it with foreign accents and other skills they never had before. They weren’t amnesiacs but it points to how trauma can affect the brain in bizarre ways.
I had never heard of a case like this - this severe and with the accent. However, I enjoyed the way the author used Tracy reaching out to experts to educate readers on the different scenarios that can occur in cases like this. Kudos for him.
I thought that was smart, too. It would be too easy to think it was made up for dramatic purposes otherwise. I loved the educational component.
