We go into this story knowing about The Last Line and their corruption, along with Moss Gunderson’s complicity, and Del’s connection. What did you make of it when Tracy asked him about the case and he claimed no recollection?

[Sharon]

It surprised the heck out of me. I expected Del to be forthcoming and tell Tracy what happened during his first homicide investigation. Until this book, Del is honest with Tracy about everything.

[Robin]

Same here. I expected Del to explain what happened 25 years ago and the fact that he couldn't come forward.

[Jonetta]

I didn’t see that coming! They had a better relationship than this and Del had to know it would only be a matter of time before she’d be back.

It made you stop and wonder what Del thought he was doing. Especially since Tracy is like a dog with a bone and you know how she is during a case.
