I'm reading A Good Girl's Guide to Murder for school and I want to annotate some of the book to use for notes. What are your guys' annotating tips and tricks without writing in the book?

also the book I'm annotating is my personal copy of the book so I won't be using the school's copy
Translucent sticky notes, highlighters (tape or marker), and most importantly a journal. You can reflect on what you’ve read so far, your interpretations, and how you felt reading the book. All annotations are good, as they help you become a better reader over time!
