The foot binding was very disturbing. I knew about it, but I had no idea what was involved. If you are past that section, I would really encourage you to continue the book. The worst is over and the rest of the story is very good.

I agree with Janice, it is a must read. I just found all the cultural aspects of that book so interesting, and yes but binding is plain and simple torture!

Haha, when I scrolled down and read it, I thought 'huh? is that all i get?!' Then I found the next post ;-)

lol too be fair it only took me a minute until you had a real answer. But thought I should be honest!

I read The Shadow of the Wind again. I liked it much better the 2nd time around. I must have been in a funky mood the first time I read it. Author

I also read Cloudstreet, which others have reported as worth 9 points. That is two points better than the book I reported at message 75 (Look What the Wind Blew In, for 7 points). But the difference in points isn't enough to warrant repeating where the Cloudstreet points come from, so I guess I will stick with what I had.

So it became April without me realising. If you haven't reported, I'll try and do badges on Monday. So let me know. That also includes myself as I haven't reported either. /sigh

Yeah, and I searched the book for this challenge for hours..., lol.
Monthly challenges are like a new hobby of mine (finding the most suitable book).
Congrats Diane and Connie! ;)
Great badge, Rus. Thanks. You keep on picking hard criteria - I'm aiming for the Glue Stick Award, and I always get close to it when I do your challenges =)
