Joan Barnett | 1972 comments Well I went into a slump. I don't think I'll finish but I guess we'll see. I picked out some shorter books to fill in.

I completed Brave New World yesterday. It was different than I thought it was going to be. I'm glad I read it but it wasn't a fan. I rated it three stars.

Next year is going to be about reading whatever I want, finishing series and reading long books.

Joan Barnett | 1972 comments Well I reconfigured a couple of books. I moved Fourth of July Creek to a book with a body of water in it. I recently read Through the Woods which I wasn't going to count for the challenge but it fit in the NPR books we love category where I took Fourth of July Creek out of. Through the Woods was one of the best graphic books that I have read. I thought the graphics were amazing and it had really creepy short stories.

Joan Barnett | 1972 comments I ended up completing my challenge. I used Mother-Daughter Murder Night as a wild card. I listened to it over the course of a couple of weeks. I wasn't going to count it for my challenge. I rated it 4 stars. I thought it was pretty intriguing.

I completed Fourth Wing and used it for the soldier prompt. I enjoyed it. I thought maybe the final battle scene was a little too long. A couple of things I thought were silly but overall it was a great fantasy. The world building I thought was really good. I did like the characters a lot. I have the second book to read and will probably start it mid to late January. I rated it 4 stars just because of some of those things that I didn't like. It was a really fun read though and I read it pretty quickly given how busy I was at work.

I read And Every Morning the Way Home Gets Longer and Longer today and counted that for the returning home prompt. I thought it gave some good introspective of my own life. It made you stop and think. I rated it 4 stars.

So wow - I completed with a little maneuvering and some careful planning in the last week!
