Dark novel about the origins of this vampire. The main things that i remember were that his wife was chosen for him and would come to him in dreams before he met her. I also remember her being kidnapped by light/dark forces. I remember there being some sort of controversy between the light and the dark at the end.

No, but thanks for trying; i want to say the title was something like “my name is _____, dracula”. But im pretty sure it wasnt vlad as the name and there might have been another term used instead of dracula.
Vampire of the Mists, maybe? Some of the elements aren’t the same but the timeline is about right.
I, Strahd: The Memoirs of a Vampire Is it this one? I've never read it, but when you said the title was something like that I remembered it.
No, to both of you; but thanks for the input. It was a very unique book from what i remember. It wasnt part of a series or anything. The main things i remember was it was an interesting way that he got his wife. She came to him in dreams before they eventually met. Then i just remember the wife being taken away by the forces of light and darkness and something about how no side is really good or evil. I read it when i was really young and it was just over my head. But now i am very interested in reading it again as an adult.

I found it guys!!!! I am dracula by c dean andersson. I swear i tried so many dracula titles and missed that one. Thanks though for help.
