It this a bug or not?

If an ISBN is invalid, it is the most logic to get that solved. Either by asking the staff to edit it or by creating a new edition and merge this one into the new one. If you have a better cover image, the second could be the easiest. At the bottom of the edit page is a box ' I understand this ISBN is invalid. Save anyway.' but that option is never explained to the librarians. So I have no idea when we're supposed to use it or if it works with a cover change.

It may work with other edits.

After you tick the "I understand" box, you must re-enter the link for the cover image. The error message clears the link, even though it may appear to still be there. The steps are:
1. Tick the "I understand" box
2. Enter the link for the cover image
3. Select Save

That is not possible because the box only shows after you have tried to upload the cover. When you tick the box, the cover is still visible on the edit page, so the only link that shows is "delete the cover".
Yes, right, sorry that I left that out. It only appears to be there. Delete the cover, enter the link again, and select Save. This happened to me yesterday, which is how I found the workaround.

(I was able to add the ISBN-10 and a librarian note with the correct ISBN-13.)

Edit: have you already asked Support to remove the incorrect "ISBN"? According to Worldcat, this edition does not have an ISBN: https://www.worldcat.org/nl/title/299...
Maybe in this case they will remove it. (In the other case I referenced, staff found the faulty ISBN on some obscure website and therefore didn't want to remove it.)

Here is an example:
This ISBN is wrong, because it'a pre-ISBN, so i can't update it's information or upload a better book cover.
I'm not sure it is a bug or not?
