I thought it a little odd seeing as most detectives wouldn’t want to hand off a complex case to someone they didn’t know but also thought he’d shadow him, seeing what skills he had. But, I didn’t immediately think something rotten was going on.

Which was also strange. Two guys fished out of the harbor with no identification or immediate time or method of death. That’s not easy.

Exactly - it was strange. Made me wonder if Moss thought Del wouldn't go 'against' the veteran and just go with what Moss told him. Especially with Del coming from the midwest - one of my thoughts at the time anyway. I would think not a lot of boat drug movement in Wisconsin.
I agree with everyone on this one. At first, I thought Moss was trying to break Del in by allowing him the lead on this case and that he'd keep a close eye on him.

Initially, I sensed that Moss knew something (which was correct) and could judge Del's performance. I didn't think Moss was another sleazy cop.
