I'm so sorry I was late setting up the group read discussion thread. Yesterday was a pretty challenging day for me.

Anyway, October's group read is Riptide by Douglas Preston. Let's go!

Great! I'm about 65% into this!

Georgann | 49 comments Hey! NP! Life just gets in the way, doesn't it? I had yesterday all to myself, and thought I would spend as much of the day as needed to finish the book I was in. I interrupted myself SO MANY times with things I needed to do. *eye roll* My copy arrived from the library today, and I will get started on it soon.

Agnieszka (agnieszka7) | 237 comments My online library made changes to their system and I wasn't able to lend the book for the last week. They solved it finally and I got it now and will start reading it within the next days.
So far I read the two quotes at the beginning and loved the first one very much. I hope it's an indication the content as witty.

Only a bit of spoilers!

In 1695, a British pirate buried his bounty in a maze of booby-trapped tunnels on an island off the coast of Maine. In three hundred years, no one has breached this rocky fortress. Now a treasure hunter and his high-tech, million-dollar recovery team embark on the perfect operation to unlock the labyrinth's mysteries. First the computers fail. Then crewmen begin to die.

The island is currently owned by a medical doctor. With the help of the local population, several scientists, a historian and computer experts, Dr. Hatch faces the trauma of his past and solves the mystery of the island. The story has action, adventure, cryptography, some romance and plenty of mystery.

Georgann | 49 comments I’m ready to read Chapter 10. I’m predicting that the beautiful Griffin gets sunk and that they find the treasure, only to somehow lose it forever. We’ll see how well I called it!!

Cordelia (anne21) | 13 comments Finished. It was great. I really enjoyed it.

Not Bad

Georgann | 49 comments Finally finished it. 3 stars from me. It moved way too slowly for my taste. I can see I was half right in my prediction!

Agnieszka (agnieszka7) | 237 comments Ugh! Life and some technichal issues got in-between so I won't finish it this month if at all.
The little bit I read is well written and engaging though a bit too intense for my current state of mind.
