I picked this book for my summer reading assignment in middle school and didn't read it (oops!) ... the other month (12 years later) I picked it and devoured it. I'd recommend reading this. It's a quick read and very entertaining!

This IS a really great book! It has interweaving, character development, and a fantastic mystery! It should be a classic everyone knows about (as far as I can tell, it's not yet).

Well, good is a relative term, but it's one of my top 10 children's/young adult books I've ever read. It's a really well-done mystery, and there are a lot of fun characters. I do think it feels a little dated, since it was written in the late 1970s, but the writing is still top-notch, and the mystery presented hasn't lost any of it's suspense. Definitely recommended.
