Kay ~{French Classroom 213}~

Aston sat at his desk, grading the latest assignment with a sigh. He was struggling with his students, as many of them paid no attention and failed his class. He ran a hand down his face, huffing. He tried, he did. But apparently not hard enough. He set aside the last of them and put the grades in the gradebook, finished for awhile. He glanced at his phone with a hum, thinking about something.

There was a soft knock at the door before a familiar student entered the room. โ€œMr. Starkhan?โ€ The boy asked tentatively, as though he were treading on eggshells. Ah, thatโ€™s why he was so familiar. It was Will, whom was known to be extremely shy. Well, he was mostly known for being โ€˜zombie boyโ€™, but the wizard wasnโ€™t really a zombie, obviously. Timidly, he stepped into the room. โ€œI was wondering if I could finish a late assignment that I didnโ€™t get done, since I was sick last week. If thatโ€™s okay. I understand if youโ€™re busy, though.โ€ He whispered, just loud enough to hear.

message 4: by Kay (new)

Kay Aston lifted his head and gave him a nod with a small smile. "Yeah, of course. You can take a seat if you want and work. If you need help, just let me know." He gave a slightly wider smile before returning to the gradebook, his idea concerning his phone dispersing from his mind. He had a student in his room and that made him less reluctant for his idea. He started making a list, scanning the Christmas list sheets from his baseball team.

Will nodded. โ€œOkay, thank you Mr. Starkhan.โ€ He said, speaking softly. Will kept his head bowed low while he went over to the basket full of unfinished assignments. He grabbed hold of the papers and made sure to only check for names. It was an intrusion of space to view anothersโ€™ paper, he thought in his own opinion. Or perhaps, it was just him. But soon enough, he found his own paper and brought it to his desk in the far back, wanting to be as small as possible. Will felt as though he had interrupted something, so he had made sure to be as quiet as possible, making the strokes of the pencil led touching his paper be no more then a light sound as he wrote down words for each answer. There was no point in writing numbers, anyways. It was french class, for goodness sake โ€” not math class.

message 6: by Kay (new)

Kay Aston finished the list and started pulling up different shopping websites to suit the needs and wants of his baseball team. He usually always gets his team presents each year for Christmas, plus he also had to get Masami one too. But he already knew what he was getting him. He also checked the needs list at the corner of the room, a sheet Aston set out for students to list what they need. He tended to get a lot of things for his students that needed help. Not just French related but just the general things. He glanced up a few times to check on Will, it being a habit for his class or when he had a small study group at lunch time that had gotten themselves lunch detention for not completing their work.

The brunette had noticed a lot of things. Firstly, how Aston got everything done even when stressed out. Secondly, that he himself apparently liked to work during his free time, for some unknown reason. He also realized that he had accidentally made his name on his paper too small so it was difficult to read, which made him pause to erase and rewrite it. Will had finally completed the assignment once the 10 minute mark passed, so he walked over to the turn-in basket and set the paper down inside. Having the basket been at the corner of Astonโ€™s desk, he was simply forced to interrupt whatever the teacher had been doing beforehand. โ€˜May as well do something.โ€™ He thought, looking over at the time. Since Will didnโ€™t really have any friends, the rest of the 40 minutes he had wouldโ€™ve been used in the library. But he had saw that the teacher was doingโ€ฆwell, a lot. โ€œDo you need help with anything, Mr. Starkhan?โ€ He asked.

message 8: by Kay (new)

Kay Aston glanced up and smiled. "Not really. I'm just organizing my gift list for the baseball team. But if you want to help, those French books over there need to be reshelved from last semester. They just returned the last of them." He said, pointing to the stack of books by the black oak bookshelf in the back. Aston was one of the few teachers that ever got all his books back from class without having the students pay for it when they graduated, or years later. Only because he was the more intimidating one and hounded his students for the books until they had no choice but to get it together and hand it in. Or sometimes he would help the student look for it. He made sure none of the books were lost, knowing the price of the books and knowing the school already had too many funds. Definitely too much to pull out for books the students were irresponsible with and too lazy to look for to return. He hummed, clicking on a certain sale he found for a gift.

Nodding in confirmation, Will decided to be helpful and made his way towards the stack of books. They were located basically at the black oak bookshelf that heโ€™d always adored, unable to resist looking at it from afar. Sometimes heโ€™d even purposely walk past it, just to get a closer look at the details and texture. But now was not the time to think about that โ€” he had time when he wasnโ€™t trying to help or wasnโ€™t busy in class. So, with that thought being pushed aside, Will grabbed some of the books and began to organize them, shelving each and every one so theyโ€™d be even. Obviously the more reckless kids would ruin it, but he could alwaysโ€ฆ.put them back at the end of class right before the bell rang? Surely thatโ€™d be okay. For now though, his focus was on the clock and stacking the delicate books.

message 10: by Kay (new)

Kay Aston watched Will go back and smiled slightly at the extra help and went back to work, adding in an extra credit grade for him for going out of his way to put the books away. He had a fair grade in the class to begin with, but now it was more excelling than before. Aston felt his deserved something for his help and time. He finished that and made a few transactions for gifts before powering down his computer and glancing at his phone, biting his tongue. He was contemplating it, but he decided to wait, simply grabbing his phone and checking his other messages. He sent his mother a text back, setting down his phone and then heading to the turn-in tray to take Will's paper and grading it quickly. He put in the grade and put the paper with the others of his class and assignment.

Once the books were all places neatly against the shelf, Will grinned proudly. Plus, not one book was sticking awkwardly out of place. Mission accomplished. Now he could maybe do something else. Like go to the library. โ€˜32 minutes left on the clock.โ€™ Will stared at the time, adjusting his wizards hat. The small, yellow star that dangled from it twinkled lightly, gleaming as it produced a light. Honestly, sometimes Will considered that it perhaps had a mind of its own. Never the less, he looked over his shoulder at Aston. โ€œTheyโ€™re all set, Mr! Anything else? I could help clean, maybe- I mean, sorry, itโ€™s just kind of dull when visiting the library everyday becomes a habit, you know.โ€ He smiled weakly, scratching his neck. โ€œIf not, thatโ€™s okay, too. I donโ€™t want to bother you or anything.โ€

message 12: by Kay (new)

Kay Aston looked over at Will and listened to him, humming as he stood and walked over to the far closet. "You're okay, Will. You're not bothering me at all, I don't get much students in here to begin with so it's okay." He opened the closet doors, the inside filled with equipment for baseball that hadn't fit in the shed outside. "Actually, do you think you could go through this stuff? I've been meaning to so this could become a cubby for players to put their bags. Just scan the stuff and determine if it is usable. Any rips and tears or too much grass staining is something I'd rather not use, as we have much better equipment outside. If you are okay with doing so?" He turned to him with a raised brow, letting him choose whether or not he wanted to put his time into something that had nothing to do with him. It sounded like he was at a loss of knowing what to do, his routine not sounding as inviting, which Aston understood all too well.

Will nodded, resisting his natural instinct to bow in a curtsey. โ€˜Thatโ€™s for girls, not boys.โ€˜ He thought with a wince. โ€˜And plus, thatโ€™d be weird. Iโ€™ll just help him. Hopefully heโ€™s not lying to me.โ€™ Will searched Astonโ€™s face, as though looking for a clue that he truly was disturbing the peace. โ€œThis class is great, though. Surely youโ€™d have more students?โ€ He asked, his pupils widening for just a moment. His brows furrowed, taking a glance over to the closet. Had it not been filled, Will could make out a space perfect for anyone who wanted to skip class, hide, andโ€ฆerโ€ฆ.yeah, he didnโ€™t want to go there. Luckily he wasnโ€™t one of those people, anyways. When Aston spoke about the small duty, Will didnโ€™t seem bothered. I mean, as long as it didnโ€™t stink to high heaven he should be fine. He did this for his brother once, too. Not to mention the fact, he was quite glad that he was being given the choice. All respect there. Another reason this was one of his favorite classes โ€” opinions mattered, students got okay grades, and as long as you werenโ€™t on the teachers bad side, you were fine. โ€œAnything to help, Mr. Starkhan.โ€ Will smiled at him shyly, making his way towards the closet. By the time heโ€™d be finished, the time for him to leave would be a lot closer, he hoped.

message 14: by Kay (new)

Kay "Many students simply join to raise my blood pressure, I'm afraid. Or see me get after, not only them, but Advisor Mr. Ashido." He shrugged and walked back to him desk, cleaning it up a bit. "Very few students actually take my class to learn the value and knowledge of French." He finished fixing the desk and wiped it down as he hummed, throwing away the wipe and the trash. He smiled at Will and nodded. "I appreciate it. I try to prioritize things in matter of importance and that wasn't too high on the list, that's why I haven't gotten to it. Too busy with grades and the strugglers in my class that don't try and need to pass to graduate." He shook his head and sat at his desk, pulling out his phone to write down a few last minute details he needed for tomorrow; his practice schedule, class, and lesson plan.

Will sighed, shaking his head at that. It was a shame, really โ€” a disgrace that so many teens decided to be absolute brats. Teachers only ever tried their bestโ€ฆmost of the time. A level of that much disrespect? Kill him. โ€œApologies.โ€ Will said calmly, his voice angelic with the way it never cracked or turned sour. Even if he was angry, heโ€™d try his best to keep his composure. In this case he was only a bit upset. Why would anyone want to give the poor staff member a hard time? Not that he wasnโ€™t already having one. Will could tell by one look. Or maybe he was just overthinking, his mind subdued and unconscious to his surroundings. Maybe, just maybe, he was under-thinking. Not considering the possibilities enough. Striving to succeed in his mission to help, Will decided to get to work now. Neatly folding things, moving others around, placing things that needed to be washed, taken care of or thrown out away from the others that were in a much more suitable condition. Honestly, he kind of thought that this was what it was like. To control emotions, understand the difference between guilty and innocent mid-judgment under the juryโ€™s hard, stone cold gaze. Will knew quite well his imaginative mind got out of hand every now and then, but it was especially in quiet spaces where it began to finally settle down. At least he wasnโ€™t thinking about way weirder things, right? Last period would support this, turning it from opinion to mere fact. Yeah, okay, last period was an absolute wreck that got Will on the verge of hyperventilation. Was that why he had come here for hiding? Just to stop his thoughts, Will decided for himself. Sure. It was. In its own little way, this was a place to get away from it all.

Kay Aston was adjusting the warm-up stretches for baseball practice, deciding to do more arm stretches for the sake of practicing to bat. He flicked his eyes up from his schedule and paused, seeing Will work. He seemed like a nice kid and had good intentions, but he also appeared to be having an internal dilemma. Aston glanced back so to his paperwork gingerly, wondering if maybe he was just making a big deal out of something that wasn't such. He ran over the list of stretches again, making sure they all had some impact on the arms and torso, a major factor in preparing his team for their overall practice. They all really lacked in batting, except maybe Cole. But Cole had been on the team for almost two years so he definitely had more skill set than the rest of them. Some of the players he had last year just didn't practice on their and own and it ended up messing with their game for this year. He shook his head at the thought, as he had made clear it would be of their best interest to put the time in over break. He heard the scarce sound of slightly escalated breathing and he paused, his eyes seeking out the only other person in the room. He frowned and stood, striding over to Will. He gazed down at him for a moment of concern before speaking. "Are you alright, Will?" He scanned the items that the teen had already looked and sorted through, wondering if something there had effected him.

Will took a deep breath. โ€˜In through the nose, out through the mouth..โ€™ He repeatedly thought. The grip on the inflated basketball he held tightened, his nails rubbing against the synthetic rubber and leather material. They were close to digging in to it, so he let it go and sighed shakily. His ears were ringing while the memories filed in, going one by one. It wasnโ€™t until the teacher spoke that he snapped out of it. โ€œHuh? Oh, yes. Sorryโ€ฆโ€ He said weakly, swallowing hard. โ€œIโ€™m okay.โ€ He nodded, hands shaking while he set the inflated basketball down, aside from the OKAY items that would be compatible. Good enough for use, anyways. He should just focus on that. Yeah, thatโ€™d be the better option. Will seriously did not want to have one of his panic attack episodes in the middle of helping his teacher. Plus, Mr. Starkhan definitely seemed suspicious of it already.

Kay Aston bent down to make sure he hadn't been overreacting to the heavier breathing he heard from Will. He frowned and leaned forward on his hunches. "If you need a break or feel uncomfortable working on this you can leave or take a moment." He offered, eyes searching Will's. He was just making sure he was okay and stable, as he could tell from his expression he was most likely in his head or having a dilemma. He stayed there for a while, just to be positive he was doing alright and maybe needed a moment of solitude. Or maybe a moment to himself. Aston always aimed to be there for his students, no matter the circumstances. He had a way to be caring but encouraging to his students potential and that was his coworkers also found enlightening about him.

Will shook his head, insistently saying, โ€œNo, no, itโ€™s quite alright. Iโ€™m fine.โ€ He said, smiling a bit weakly. His eyes had little to no light in them, and his pupils themselves were just a bit enlarged; probably had been dilated during his miniature episode. The shorter male scratched his neck nervously. โ€˜What is he thinking? Does he think like everyone else? Oh God, what if heโ€™s judging me right now- no. Calm down. Itโ€™s okay. For the stars sake, this is one of the most considerate teachers in the school.โ€™ He narrowed his eyes while the small war went on in his head. โ€œS-sorry for being s-such a disturbance. You can go back to whatever you were doing before, if youโ€™d like..โ€ He mumbled to the latter, letting his nerves calm down. The wizard had shrugged off everything โ€” it was practically an every-day occurrence anyways.

message 26: by Kay (new)

Kay Aston frowned and stood up, gazing down at Will with concern. Not the type of concern for 'mental health' or even that he was weirded out, but general concern for the you get boy himself. "If you say so. And you're not a disturbance. I just got worried there was something wrong medically or other because of the labored breathing. But if you'd like to go back to what you were working on, it's fine. Just as long as it's not causing you too much stress or worry for you." He said, taking a step back. "No need to have pressure to get it done in this free period. You can come back if you need to or I can even finish it." He offered, not wanting the boy to feel obligated to work if he didn't want to, especially if he felt he was a disturbance.

Willโ€™s hazel eyes twinkled with an unintelligible spark of emotion. โ€œIโ€™ll keep that in mind. Thank you, though. For checking on me.โ€ He said in a quiet tone. If this was his family, he would have ran up and hugged them. But this wasnโ€™t his family. It was just his guardian at school. โ€œIโ€™ll keep working on this. The delay is kind of my fault.โ€ A bit of nerves ran through him, making the hair on his neck bristle. The wizard turned away and went back to sorting everything, hesitating only ever so often. Adjusting his hat again, he sighed, but it was more like a small intake of breath then it was him sighing. โ€˜Just relax.โ€™

message 28: by Kay (new)

Kay Aston gave the boy a small smile and nodded. "Of course, anytime. It's my job." He nodded again at his affirmation, striding back to his desk and glancing back at him to make sure he was okay as he sat at his desk and went back to what he was doing. He kept a close eye on Will to make sure he was alright as he continued working, an ear listening as well.

Some time passed. The clock began to seemingly tick a lot slower, until aโ€™las, the bell rang and Will jumped up. He had finished organizing about 3 minutes ago and had been fairly surprised by the amount of objects to put away that there were. However, he still got it done. Turning towards Aston, he took a step towards the door. โ€œIโ€™ll see you later in class, Mr. Starkhan. Have a good rest of your day.โ€ He said, now facing the door instead of the staff member. Pushing open the door, he left the classroom.

message 32: by Kay (new)

Kay Aston waved and nodded at Will. "See you, Will. Take care." He was doing, once again, last minute touches on his schedule. He could never get it the way he wanted no matter how much he tried. He hummed as he moved around yet another assignment for tomorrow. He sighed. They only had a week until break, and this year he genuinely wanted to have nothing on his break to mess with. Well, technically he always had nothing to do on break, however he did extra. So he was doing the same here, doing extra early so he wouldn't be tempted to do more over break. Though he highly doubted he would, with someone to distract him over the holidays. He flushed and rested his head on his desk.

Masami walked toward what had became his favorite class to assist teaching in, the French Classroom of 213. He had a folder of some assignments that had been turned into him instead of Aston, mainly the students that preferred the pinkett over the strict raven haired man because of the contrast in their personalities. He however also carried a small container with cinnamon rolls, something he began to bring atleast once a week. He knocked on the door, hoping his lover would be inside.

message 34: by Kay (new)

Kay Aston was grading the last of the week's assignments, lifting his head at the knock to the door. He thought of who it could be and immediately dispelled the thought. He knew who it was, he knew the scent well, the past hour of focusing on the big stack of papers and numbers making him lag in thinking of anything else. It was Masami, his lover. Something he was still getting used to. It had been almost a month but Aston had been single for so long, having a 'lover' or even a 'boyfriend' was foreign. He smiled. "Come in, Masami."

Masami smiled when he saw Aston when he open the door and walked in. "Ah, still so formal with me." He placed his hand with his folder over his heart before dropping it to close the door, walking over to Aston. He had almost dropped the folder in the process, but regained a good grip on it. He placed a kiss on Aston's forehead, then his cheek, and lastly his lips briefly. "How's my sweet-cheek's doing?" He asked, standing straight again.

Kay Aston rolled his eyes and watched him, holding back a chuckle. "You act like you won't come over to my cabin later for dinner," he commented, glancing at the folder in his hands. He flushed at the kiss to his forehead and cheek, kissing back when Masami finally made it to his lips. "I'm doing alright, just finished grading. Unless that folder is more papers to grade?" He looked up at him, seated in his desk chair.

Masami only smiled wider at the mention of them having dinner later. It was a regular occurrence, yes, but he was still excited every time. He placed the folder on Aston's desk with a nod. "I wouldn't miss it for the world. But yeah, your students like me better so prefer seeing me." He teased him with a wink. "I got some done, but my mind wandered and I just started to doodle on my desk." He said honestly with a shrug. "Figured some motivation could help me?" He joked, bending back down so they were face to face.

Kay Aston huffed a sigh. of course they liked Masami more. Aston wasn't afraid to tell a student how it was and could be straightforward enough to make them avoid confrontation. Not one student had failed his class, but apparently having Masami more involved in the classroom made him an option for assignments as well. "I'm sure they do. Doesn't bother me any, as long as they find a way to get their stuff in on time." He couldn't help but smile at him admitting he tried to grade the papers. He shook his head at his suggestion in his question. He gazed at him for a moment before kissing him lightly. "Thank you. However could I repay you?"

Masami hummed at his answer, knewing he would give him a legitimate one rather than a joke in return. He kissed him back, however, for the brief seconds they did so. He hummed in thought as he sat on the corner of Aston's desk, putting down the container he had brought. "How about more than just dinner tonight? I stay over, we cuddle to a movie or something, maybe lead to something more exciting, and I can cook you breakfast in the morning." He slid in another one of his suggestive comments, always trying his best to do so in a way that he wouldn't get hit. He was letting the relationship go as slow as Aston wanted, yes, but that wouldn't stop his want for him or his suggestive taunts.

Kay Aston's eyes lit up at the container Masami brought, reaching forward to grab it. He got himself a cinnamon roll, popping it in his mouth as he closed the container. He looked up at Masami, listening to him until he finished speaking. His eyes widened a fraction and his cheeks heated to dark red. He didn't want to admit his feelings on the matter he was proposing, but he swallowed and took a breath. "I don't see why not, but we'll see about the exciting part." He opened the folder as a distraction and skimmed the papers, setting it off to the side.

Masami smirked with a light snicker at the response he had gotten from his boyfriend. He leaned in and kissed his cheek. "We'll see." He repeated in his ear teasingly, putting his voice in a low whisper. He then left a trail of kisses on his cheek before taking a small bite off the other side of the cinnamon roll. "So, plans this weekend?" He questioned innocently, putting back on his charming smile as if he hadn't done anything to attempt provoking Aston.

Kay Aston flushed a deeper red at the affection and his words, knowing full well what he was doing. He huffed when he bit the other side of the cinnamon roll, finishing it off as he attempted to clear his head. He swallowed as he thought of his previous plans for the weekend. "Well, I was giving the boys the weekend off for practice and I have everything else done. So... I thought of spending it with you?" He gazed at him for a moment before having to glance away, his cheeks back to their red scalding. "Or just getting farther ahead with the class plans."

Masami held his laugh back this time, if only to save himself and to be able to hear what Aston said. He nodded at the first portion, but his eyes then widened at his idea. "No no, spend it with me!" He said, sliding off his desk, taking his hands. "We could go out-out, into town for a date." His eyes were filled with joy as many different ideas filled his head. He rarely did his dance practice on the weekends, liking to give his dancers more free time, so he was usually always free unless something popped up, which hadn't happened with this weekend coming up.

Kay Aston blinked and smiled softly at Masami's enthusiasm. He held Masami's hands tightly and nodded. "If you want to go into town, we can. What about tomorrow? You could-" He cut off for a moment, his eyes flicking down to their hands as he warmed, his skin starting to really contrast with the heat of Masami's. "You could bring a change of clothes over and we can go whenever we get around," He suggested. He wasn't always nervous with things, but in the aspect of their relationship with just about everything, he was always cautious.

Masami almost jumped with excitement, but instead bent down and incased Aston with a hug, peppering the side of his face in kisses. "It's a date!" He refrained from being too loud, seeing as he was close to Aston's. He was ecstatic though, happy to be able to go out with Aston. The only problem was going to be the makeup, but he was ready to take as long as he needed in order to be able to have time with Aston.

Kay Aston laughed, cheeks pink with the shower of kisses Masami rained on him. He hugged Masami close, arms sliding up his back. He rested his head on Masami's shoulder and closed his eyes, enjoying the embrace. He nuzzled up Masami's neck before he realized what he was doing and flinched, his grip loosening on Masami. "Sorry." He slipped his arms down Masami's sides to his own, embarrassed he had gotten lost in their moment.

Masami's smile softened, but also widened. He didn't get to have Aston be affectionate back to him very often, so was happily taking in the return in a hug. He gave a sound of happiness, catching Aston's attention to his neck. His eyes were filled with love as he looked down at him. He however whined when Aston caught himself and simply pulled him back into his embrace, even going as far as to pick him up and sit back on his desk. "Hush, sorry my ass." He muttered, holding him close and nuzzling his cheek softly.

Kay Aston let out a small sound of surprise, moving into Masami's arms. He caught his expression and blushed, eyes on his with a similar loving gaze. He relented and went back to holding him, arms around his shoulders. He tilted his head for Masami, a hand slipping to his hair and playing with the hair on the nape of his neck. He huffed and buried his face in his shoulder. "We're in a classroom, Masami."

Masami hummed a short happy tune when Aston gave in once more. He rubbed his sides softly, not caring about his words. "An empty classroom, so kiss my ass." He replied. His mind was instantly filled with different things he could have said after that, but fought the urge. "Besides, you know you love this." He said, lifting his head and resting it on top of Aston's.

Kay Aston melted into Masami, body warming at his hands on his sides. He shifted to press closer to him, eyes lidded in comfort. "No, thanks. Empty or not, someone can walk in," he argued weakly, voice hushed. He nuzzled Masami's neck when he rested it atop his, not bothering to deny his last statement. "I do, but I know how you are." He was actually surprised he hadn't said more than had, basing off what he had brought up earlier.
