2022 October Reading Challenge

Did you like it? It was one I was thinking of reading.

Britt did you read those this month, or are they just a recommendation?

Thanks for clarifying. :)

Ooh, that sounds very interesting!

The Ghost of Marlow House sounds fun. And now I want to give it a try (and for some reason watch The Ghost and Mrs Muir). :D

A wonderful Halloween movie!

I don't need help finding a book now; but, I have to admit that I had trouble finding a book that interests me that isn't too spooky. I tried going the picture book direction. Not surprisingly all of the books I wanted were checked out already (Happy Halloween!) Anyway, I finally found a book that was in stock at the library that fit the prompt. The book that I am reading for this challenge is: Ghost of a Chance by Kerry Blair

October is a hectic month for us between Halloween and my son's birthday. Seven years old this year! We are reading a lot, too. Most of our books aren't ghost related, though.
I finished Ghost. I enjoyed it. I read The Scarecrow and other stories: 14 Dark Tales of the Civil War: Volume Four, a collection of mainly ghost stories. I have also been enjoying the Anthony Horowitz Hawthorne series, recommended by my sister. I'm finishing the last one now. I read the first one this month as well. I agree with my sister in hoping he'll add to the series.
My son and I read The Thirteenth Fairy, Fortunately, the Milk,
The Wolves in the Walls, Dolphins at Daybreak and a few Pete the Cat books. We are reading The Long-Lost Home. He really enjoyed this series.
We have Ghost Town at Sundown on our to read list.
The biggest challenge is getting him to read to me, which us his current school goal. He is a great reader, but reluctant to show his parents.
Edit: A fourth book is to be released mid-November! The Twist of a Knife

It's good to hear that people have been reading. I can't believe it's already the middle of October. What happened to September?

Normally, I'd say it blew away on the cool winds of an autumnal October. This year, I think the heat expanded August and it swallowed September.

I'm with you on this. August was two months long.

OH MY GOSH. It's true! I laughed out loud, and told my colleagues, and we all laughed, and think you're correct. :D

I think you have it right. It does seem like the months moved forward a month.

I didn't realize pollen could be bad in fall, too. :(

It is an Historical Fantasy book that takes place during WWI.
It is about Mediums in the Spirit Corps who talk to the soldiers who have just died to get information about what they saw before they died. The mediums then relay the information on to the army to help them with the war effort.
Only a few more days to tell me if you finished and what you read for October's Ghost themed title challenge!

Does the book need to be about 'actual' ghosts? No! Just needs that very specific word in the title.
Let's see what you all find to read.
Good luck!
