Denise | 566 comments Lindsay wrote: "Is anyone else thinking of reading a book for each of the 7 deadly sins?

So far I've read: lust Breaking Free by Rachel Jeffs
envy Rainbow Valley by L M Montgomery
..."

A Confederacy of Dunces has both gluttony and slothfulness but if you want to read through all of them I'd use this for sloth. It is a hilariously entertaining book

Denise | 566 comments I read Dante's inferno in February for a classics book club--covers all 7 sins.

message 62: by GailW (new)

GailW (abbygg) Under "Pride", I read Miss Pym Disposes by Josephine Tey. The author wrote a mystery that reads more like a fiction, the mystery isn't introduced until the 75% mark in the book. However, the various aspects of pride occur often in the character and storyline development. The last part is the damage that this pride can produce.

That could be murder, lust, wrath and more. i do not want to give any secrets away

Belinda Angus | 16 comments “In Cold Blood” by Truman Capote
Involves envy, greed and wrath. Overall it was a good read. IMO it went into some details that I didn’t feel were necessary. “In Cold Blood is regarded by critics as a pioneering work in the true-crime genre”. It was one of the first non-fiction works of its kind.

She's written two books about the case (this is the second) and has produced a documentary.
