Lizz Taylor | 19 comments IKE: the dog who saved a human by Jason Dorland is excellent. It is the author's life journey but from the point of view of his dog. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/8...

It also starts with an "I" and fits the March mini challenge of being from an animals point of view.

Tiffany Cutshall | 27 comments American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. History

Moving and thoughtful.

Listening to Chris’s story in his own words was educational. My husband was a Marine during the time Chris was in the Navy. As a military wife, this book gave me an insight on how things were for the service member.

I loved the interjections from Taya and many of her thoughts and feelings expressed I could completely relate to.

It still breaks my heart that Chris had survived the heat of war only to be taken from this world by someone he was trying to help. He had such wonderful dreams of being able to give back and he was taken from our country far far too soon.

Anyone who supports and admires our military absolutely should read or listen to this book!

“Fierce Appetites: Loving, Losing and Living to Excess in My Present and in the Writings of the Past”
read by the author, Elizabeth Boyle featuring twelve essays rooted in the author’s own life and drawing heavily on her knowledge as a historian. I will review it fully in my “read” shelf as soon as I finish it

message 128: by Jolien (new)

Jolien (joliendekoninck) | 71 comments I read "Star Wars: Age of Republic - Qui-Gon Jinn #1" last Friday. Enjoyed this comic as it has a gripping story and the most beautiful graphics. A critical note is it's a bit short and feels like the story is unfinished. It's to be read more like an introduction to the character of Qui-Gon Jinn, fitting into the whole Star Wars franchise.
