I was shocked and saddened by this news. :( My 3 and 6 year old daughters will be joining me in a Star Trek-a-thon this weekend in his honor. (Original Series, I think.)
He joins James Doohan and DeForest Kelley.
This is so sad. When I told my wife she was devastated. Never as big a fan of TOS as I was, she nonetheless enjoyed Nimoy's work especially in the original Mission Impossible. So we'll be watching a mix of TOS, MI, and top it all off with a twofer - Wrath of Khan and the Star Trek reboot movie from 2009. *sigh* Life without Spock, it simply won't be the same.
He also appeared in some TV Westerns in the late 'fifties, early 'sixties, and at least one "Twilight Zone" and "Outer Limits" episode.
I never had the chance to meet the man, but I've been a Star Trek fan for all of my life.I rather think I'll be having a wee quiet drink to his memory later.

Just one?
So bummed :-( But he looked so frail the last few movie-cameos he did that I'm not surprised. Leanord Nimoy has moved on ahead of us to explore that last great final frontier.
