When Dasha was young, her mother used to read her stories. Stories of older days, before the revolution and the democracy. Stories that happened long before anyone could remember, legends and myths and fantasies long before the reign of even the land's latest King and Queen. Dasha's mother would recount the tales of Gods and Goddesses, sprites and demons, and the little girl would listen with eyes wide and interests piqued. By the age of ten, she could retell every word of them on her own,
and though many considered the tales to be hogwash, Dasha couldn't help herself.
She couldn't help but wonder if they were real.

Nowadays, though she's much older, what most would call sense still hasn't caught
up with this young dreamer. Her head is always in the clouds or her eyes are always scanning another page, rereading myth after myth and legend after legend. Maybe
it's dumb that she can't break free of "childish delusions", and maybe her father is
right when he says that she ought to start looking for someone to take care of her,
some man to hold her tighter than the stories that have her enraptured. But Dasha
doesn't want that. She wants libraries and tomes and, dammit, if her father is going
to kill her for her fantasies, then she'll meet Veles with a smile on her soft little lips.

I guess we should start with the obvious? Lazar is mute. His vocal cords never fully developed when he was a baby and well now he can't speak. I mean, yeah he can make sounds, but he doesn't possess the full range of motion in his vocal chords that would allow him to be able to speak. So he uses sign language. And when he communicates with most people? He uses gestures, because most people don't know PSL (Pravitel Sign Language). So he gestures for the most part. Thankfully his job doesn't require much talking since most people that come into a music store do so with the intent of getting something specific. Yay for that.

Lazar does have a passion for sounds though. For music. And for the laughter of a certain someone. Yeah. Her. It's how she first got his attention, he'd heard her laughing and his head sort of snapped in her direction and his heart melted when he saw her. So yeah, this guy? Has been dorkily crushing on her from afar since like forever. And when we say dork we mean it. Lazar is a huge dork. Lazar was always small for his size, and then one day he went through puberty and shot up 5 inches and gained like 20 lbs in muscle and well....he's never really gotten used to it. As in? He's always tripping over his own feet.

Hopefully this won't lead to any embarrassing collision moments with 'You-Know-Her'

Nadine — do not call her Nadezhda, thank you very much — has always grown up
privileged. She's lucky that way, she really is. With her uncle as the last president
of the Pravitel Republic and her father as a wildly successful lawyer, she's never
been in want or need. And so, in some ways, maybe that makes what she does
even more beautiful. Nadine's a philanthropist: a lover of humankind, a young
woman who helps to operate one of the main organizations helping the needy in
Bogatstvo. Because that's who Nadine is; she feels the need to help people. To do
something with her life like her father and uncle did. And so maybe she doesn't
understand. Maybe she's helping the impoverished from a place of extreme
affluence. But she's going to do something to help.

Things went a bit awry after she became friends with Nikodim Vodovatov. They
had just met, hitting it off at an event, two of the younger ones there. And so yeah,
they were talking, laughing. But neither had imagined that it would become what
it did, and suddenly photographs of them were in the newspaper and tabloids, all
talking about some sort of "presidential family romance" that wasn't there to start
with. But hey — if they're fake dating, at least they're friends, right?

(Age:) Twenty-One

One of the most easy going people you will ever meet, Katerina is very friendly. There's a certain lightness, innocence if you will, that draws people to her. She's very accepting of people and does her best to make everyone comfortable around her. Over all she's a very sweet girl that the word 'hate' doesn't even enter her vocabulary. But she's also a very silly girl who's very often found either laughing or smiling with her big dimples on her cheeks. This makes Kat a very trusting gal who likes to see the best in people, but it also makes her a naive girl. Neither being overly wealthy nor being very poor, Katerina lives comfortably in the middle class, keeping her shielded from the extreme horrors of the poor and the ruthless games of the wealthy. She might be naive but she's also incredibly smart and creative. An out of the box thinker who can have some ideas ranging from weird to crazy. Oh you know those left handed people, always coming up with odd things.

Karolek always jokes to his friends that he is the black sheep of the family, an introvert in a sea of extraverts, a boy made up of scraps and left-behind pieces. If Karolek truly were made up of leftovers, the sum of these parts come up to form a naturally shy, clumsy, sensitive boy with haphazard mannerisms that play along the threshold between charming and awkward. Which is why he is almost always behind office doors, in a spacious room where he is allowed to absentmindedly gaze at the empty space between picture frames for two hours straight before turning into a panicked mess and getting three hours worth of work done in less than thirty minutes.

He can seem rather reserved, smiling briefly but choosing to say little, preferring to stay silent, observing until a particularly witty comment or a funny story causes him to laugh aloud and forget his reservations as his face lights up and his eyes are filled with a presence that transcends words. Give him time, let him laugh, and you will soon find him babbling away about all and every topic as you stare in bewilderment at a boy whose first impression convinced you that he was most definitely mute.

His expertise lies with street smarts, and despite his goofy mannerisms and awkward endearments, he is level-headed and he deals with the world of common sense. Economical matters come easily to him and while he might not be the most graceful or verbose of businessmen, his eyes are atuned to the opportunities that lie in the world of logistics. He spends his time with his numbers and his own nebulous thoughts, laughing to himself as everyone else wonders what could possibly be so funny about a screen filled with stock investments.

If there was one thing you should know about Viktor, is that he never lets himself be pushed around. Now it's not saying that he's some kind of bully, on the contrary he's rather respectful and polite as long as your reciprocate it back. In fact some would call him distant, no real connection with anyone. But to those who push to hard and try to test his limit, he could be a real jackass. Then there are those who just plain irritate him and it's like the teeth come out with this one. For example, nosy people. Or even arrogant people who think their gods gift to the world. Viktor does everything he can for his family and has no problems cleaning houses. In fact, he would say that on a certain level he likes to help other people out but he's not a fucking charity case either. Did I mention he has quiet the mouth on him, too? Overall Viktor could be a really difficult boy to try to understand but one things for sure, he loves his sister despite their differences. And you never mess with anything Viktor loves.
