Twenty-one years ago...
Queen Irinushka III ascended to the Pravitel throne. Many expected it to be a joyous occasion. Young, stylish, and popular, Irinushka III promised reform in Pravitel. But things were changing in Pravitel -- things that no queen could control.

The world around Pravitel was changing. For the first time there was a whisper of hope in the ears of the lower class: Democracy. It was spreading like wildfire around the queendom, burning the message of freedom and liberty into the hearts of all who heard it.

Irinushka III's reign would be immortalized in history books as the shortest reign in Pravitel history.

The rise of the New Regime...
Following the revolt at Irinushka III's coronation, all hell broke loose. The next three years were the bloodiest in Pravitel history, until the New Regime was established and Pravitel became the Pravitel Republic.

The new President Tsechanovetsky's first act was to have the Queen and King executed. The son -- only a young boy -- would be spared. Perhaps he could be of use to the New Regime later. But the daughter? The heir? The little Princess Irinushka, only a few months old? Gone. Thought to have been a casualty in the charge on the palace.

And now?
The princess is very much alive, still living in the capital city of Slava as Irina Kovalenskaya. The New Regime is all she knows. To her, the Queen and King are little more than people she learned about in school.

But there are people still loyal to the crown, people who know who she really is and want her to retake the throne as her birthright.

The question is... will she even want to take back her throne?

But a third party rises...
The National Pravitel Socialist party lurks, waiting to rise to power. Every day more join their ranks. And they have a trick up their sleeve... a pretender princess, if you will.

One who will retake the throne.

One who will die, handing over the power to the National Pravitel Socialists.
